    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing capable of reducing an environmental load and having excellent high-temperature/high-speed durability. SOLUTION: This rolling bearing 1 includes: an inner ring 2 having a rolling surface in the outer peripheral surface thereof; an outer ring 3 having a rolling surface in the inner peripheral surface thereof; a plurality of rolling elements 4 interposed 5 holding the rolling elements 4. The inner ring 2, the outer ring 3, the rolling elements 4 or the holder 5 is a metal bearing member, and a sliding surface or a rolling surface of at least one member of the metal bearing members is coated with a film of a polyhydric alcohol compound originating in a plant such as curcumin, quercetin and chlorogenic acid. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording medium 10, in which a magnetic layer 2 comprising the thin film of a ferromagnetic metal and a carbon- protecting film 3 are formed in this order on a non-magnetic base material 1, an aromatic alcohol-treated layer 4 is formed on the carbon-protecting film 3, and then a lubricant layer 5 containing a perfluoropolyether compound and an amine compound is formed on the aromatic alcohol-treated layer 4.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the titled magnetic recording medium having excellent traveling stability and resistance to wear and corrosion by using a perfluoroalkylcarboxylic acid ester and naphthols as a protective layer.
    CONSTITUTION: A ferromagnetic metallic thin film is formed on a nonmagnetic carrier, and the protective layer consisting essentially of a perfluo roalkylcarboxylic acid ester and naphthols is coated on the ferromagnetic metal lic thin film to obtain the medium. The perfluoroalkylcarboxylic acid ester to be used is expressed by the formula, C

    2n+1 COOR (where n is a 6W10 integer and R is a 1W25 C hydrocarbonic group), and can be easily synthesized by the reaction of a perfluoroalkylcarboxylic acid with the corresponding alcohol. α-naphthol, etc., can be exemplified as the naphthols to be used. The compounding ratio by weight of the perfluoroalkylcarboxylic acid ester to the naphthols is preferably controlled to 10/2W10/10.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic recording medium having improved runnability, durability, etc. by forming a top coat layer having a fern leave shape when observed with an electronmicroscope according to selection of the quantity of a lubricating agent, the conditions for drying the coated film, etc. on the thin ferromagnetic film provided on a nonmagnetic base body.
    CONSTITUTION: A thin ferromagnetic metallic film is formed on a base body consisting of a high polymer film, Al alloy, etc. and the paint contg. a thermosetting, electron ray curing or other polymerizable lubricating agent such as fatty acid ester of an aliphat. alcohol of ≥7C or a perfluoride of the alcohol thereof, silicone (meth)acrylate, etc. and further a polymerizable oxidation preventive agent such as monoglycol salicylate methacrylate or the like as well as a binder such as a polymer, oligomer, monomer, etc. is coated on said thin film and is dried to form the top layer. The quantity of the lubricating agent and the conditions for drying the paint are adequately selected in this stage to provide the surface in which the fern leave-shaped fine ruggedness shown in the figure is observed by the electronmicroscope. The recording medium having excellent runnability and durability is obtd.
