    摘要: PURPOSE:To lower the coefft. of dynamic friction of a magnetic layer and to obtain a magnetic recording medium having the excellent traveling stability and durability of a tape by adding the powder of a methacrylate crosslinked polymer to a magnetic coating compd. CONSTITUTION:This recording medium has the powder of the methacrylate crosslinked polymer having about 1,000-5,000 degree of polymn. in the magnetic coating compd. The average particle size of the powder of the methacrylate crosslinked polymer is preferably in a 0.05-5(mum) range and the use of the powder having only the single grain size or the combination use of the powders having the different grain size is possible. The powder is preferably added to the magnetic powder in a 0.1-20pts.wt. range per 100pts.wt. magnetic powder. the coefft. of dynamic friction is thereby lowered and the magnetic recording medium having the excellent traveling stability and durability is obtd.

    摘要: PURPOSE:To improve running durability and electromagnetic conversion characteristics by incorporating a copolymer contg. a specific polyhydric alcohol deriv. unit as its copolymer component into the binder of a magnetic layer formed by dispersing ferromagnetic powder into the binder. CONSTITUTION:This magnetic recording medium includes a nonmagnetic base and the magnetic layer which is provided on the base and is formed by dispersing the ferromagnetic powder into the binder and the binder thereof contains the copolymer contg. the polyhydric alcohol deriv. unit expressed by formula I. In formula, R denotes hydrogen or methyl group; R denotes a divalent hydrocarbon group of 1-18C; M denotes a residual polyhydric alcohol residue of 3-12C; (m) denotes 0 or 1; (n) denotes 2-5 integer. The ferromagnetic powder to be incorporated into the magnetic layer is preferably the pulverized ferromagnetic powder of a modified iron oxide series and fine magnetic metal powder. The electromagnetic conversion characteristics and running durability are thereby improved.

    摘要: PURPOSE:To improve the surface smoothness of a magnetic layer and the wear resistance of the titled medium by providing the protective layer of a copolymer having a specified composition on a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic paint contg. magnetic powder is coated on a substrate and magnetic field orientation is applied to form the magnetic layer. The protective layer formed with a copolymer consisting essentially of perhaloolefin, cycloalkyl vinyl ether, alkyl vinyl ether, and hydroxyalkyl vinyl ether is provided on the magnetic layer. Consequently, the surface smoothness of the magnetic layer and the wear resistance of the magnetic recording medium are improved.

    2n+1 as expressed by the formulas I, II, III (n is 2W20, m is 1 or 2) and ≥1 radiation-sensitive unsatd. double bonds, more preferably further a radiation curing type lubricating agent such as (meth)acrylic acid and acryl alcohol ester, antioxidant and hardener into a solvent such as methyl ethyl ketone is coated on the thin magnetic film formed on a nonmagnetic base body. The coating is dried for about one hour at 100°C after coating and an electron ray, etc. are irradiated thereto in an inert atmosphere such as gaseous N
    2 to polymerize and cure the coating to obtain the wear resistant top coat layer which is uniform, thin and strong and does not peel from the magnetic layer. The magnetic recording medium having the excellent corrosion preventiveness, corrosion resistance and durability is thus obtd.

    摘要: PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having superior magnetic characteristics, superior surface smoothness of the magnetic layer and superior durability and contg. magnetic powder with high dispersibility and fillability by hardening a coated film contg. a specified coupling agent and a specified oligomer under radiation so as to produce the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A coated film contg. a titanium coupling agent represented by the general formula, a butadiene oligomer or a deriv. thereof, and magnetic powder, is formed on a substrate and hardened by irradiation to produce a magnetic layer. Besides said oligomer, to the film may be added an oligomer obtd. by bonding acrylic acid or methacrylic acid to a terminal of polyalkylene glycol or polyol by esterification. The preferred amount of the coupling agent to be used is 0.1-10wt% of the amount of the magnetic powder in the magnetic layer.
