A radiographic silver halide film has improved processability because it includes a silver halide emulsion composed of cubic grains having a critical molar ratio of chloride, iodide, and bromide. In particular, the cubic grains comprise from 1 to 20 mol % of chloride and from 0.25 to 1.5 mol % of iodide, with the remainder being bromide. The cubic grains also have an ECD of from 0.65 to 0.8 mu m. This film is particularly useful in mammography for imaging dense soft tissue.

This invention concerns a non-spectral sensitized radiographic product for exposure to ionizing radiation of energy equal to at least 40 keV containing at least 50 mg/dm , which comprises a support covered with on at least one of its sides with a layer of silver halide emulsion in which at least 50% of the grains are tabular grains, and at least 0.05 mmol/mol Ag of a compound of formula wherein R and R are each independently an atom of hydrogen, an alkyl group comprising from 1 to 5 atoms of carbon, substituted or not, a hydroxyl group, or a benzyl group; R and R are each independently a hydrogen, or an alkyl group from 1 to 5 atoms of carbon, or jointly comprise the atoms necessary to form a heterocycle of 4 to 6 atoms, substituted or not. The product for industrial radiography of the invention provides an improved keeping of the latent image and higher speed.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiosensitized screen having high sensitization efficiency, excelling in flexibility, and having no environmental problem, and a radiation image forming method. SOLUTION: This radiosensitized screen comprises a layer having a radiosensitizing function. The layer absorbs radiation while emitting secondary electrons, secondary X rays, or secondary γ rays, or a combination thereof. This screen comprises radiosensitized particles not showing light emission in ultraviolet or visible light regions, the particles being of simple substances of metals and of their metallic compounds, and a binding agent for together binding the radiosensitized particles in a dispersed state. The simple substances are gold, tungsten, tantalum, barium, tin, silver, molybdenum, niobium, zirconium, zinc, copper, nickel, cobalt, iron, chromium, vanadium, and titanium. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable sensitive material excellent in sensitivity, adhesion and pressure resistance, and to provide an image forming method for the same. SOLUTION: The heat developable sensitive material is obtained by disposing an image forming layer containing a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on at least one surface of a support, wherein ≥50%, in terms of projected area, of grains of the photosensitive silver halide have an aspect ratio of 2-100 and the binder contains an aqueous dispersion of a hydrophobic polymer. Tabular grain emulsions of enhanced photographic sensitivity are disclosed in which the tabular grains contain a maximum surface iodide concentration along their edges and a lower surface iodide concentration within their corners than elsewhere along their edges.
