    Abstract: PURPOSE:To house principal parts of a paddle wheel driving gear in a ship body, by connecting the paddle wheel driving gear to a paddle wheel with link mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:Rotary motion of a diesel engine 2 is transmitted to a reduction gear 6 through an elastic joint 3, speed reducing reverser 4 and connecting shaft 5 to rotate the first crank 8. Rotary motion of the first crank 8 is transmitted to a lever 12 through the first connecting rod 13 to swingably move the lever 12. Swinging motion of the lever 12 is further transmitted to the second crank 11 by the second connecting rod 14 to rotate a paddle wheel 9 in a fixed direction. Further the direction of rotation of the paddle wheel 9 can be optionally changed by the reverser 4. A paddle wheel driving gear, being capable of housing its principal parts in an engine compartment or the like in a ship body 1, is economical without causing the necessity for applying specific measures of waterproof process and the like.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion device applicable to an airplane, a helicopter, a marine vessel, or the like and high in operation efficiency by fitting a plurality of propellers into an outer peripheral frame of ring shape, and rotating the outer peripheral frame by power to obtain driving force. SOLUTION: In the case of a propulsion device for a helicopter, posts 35 are erected above a fuselage 300 with persons on board, and an outer peripheral frame 15 of ring shape is turnably supported on the upper end of each post 35 through a bearing mechanism 30. A plurality of propellers 10 are fitted into the outer peripheral frame 15. The outer peripheral frame 15 is rotated by the rotational force of an engine 150 through a rotation transmission gear 40 to obtain driving force, and the helicopter is levitated to fly.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust meter for ships which shows a large detection amount, with no errors caused by external factors such as a temperature change, an inertial influence, etc., and consequently lessens errors, by constituting so that light is reciprocated between two points in a longitudinal direction of a shaft with an optional angle to the center of the shaft and a shift of a light point caused by a compression is detected. SOLUTION: Two fixed rings 2, 3 are provided via a predetermined distance in a longitudinal direction of a shaft 1. A main body 4 of a torsion meter with a lamp, a photodetecting sensor or the like incorporated therein is arranged at one fixed ring 2 to be in parallel to an optical axis and the center of the shaft, and a mirror 5 of a concave mirror is set to the other fixed ring 3 on the optical axis, thereby to constitute the torsion meter. A main body 19 of an extensometer having a lamp, a photodetecting sensor, etc., incorporated therein is set to one fixed ring 2 with an optional angle to the optical axis and center of the shaft, and a mirror 25 of a concave mirror is set to the other fixed ring 3 on the optical axis, to thereby constitute the extensometer.
