PURPOSE: A crosslinkable composition is provided to reduce or prevent the formation of pre-gel in extrusion and to ensure an optimal crosslinking rate suing a crosslinking catalyst harmless to the human reproduction. CONSTITUTION: Electric cables and/or communication cables include a polymer layer which is extruded and crosslinked. The polymer layer is obtained from a crosslinkable composition containing a crosslinkable polymer and a silane mixture using a hydrolysable unsaturated organosilane. The silane mixture includes a hydrolyzable unsaturated organosilane, dioctyl tin salt as a crosslinkable catalyst, and a free radical generator.

A foam composition is provided to form a homogeneous polymer foaming structure, to offer good dielectric properties for the improvement of electrical conductivity in the cable field, and to minimize the amount of expensive fluorinated polymer. A foam composition includes a polymer having a melting point of 250 °C or higher, and an organic salt which is a chemical foaming agent having a decomposition temperature higher than the melting point of the polymer. The organic salt is selected from the group comprising citrate derivatives, stannate derivatives, or mixtures thereof. The polymer is a fluorinated polymer. The foam composition further contains a cohesive agent. The cohesive agent is contained in an amount of 0.2-2wt% of the composition.
