Abstract: PURPOSE: A thermal insulation structure for a storage tank and a construction method thereof are provided to easily insulate the storage tank thermally without using unnecessary subsidiary materials by having a simple structure. CONSTITUTION: A thermal insulation structure for a storage tank(1) comprises the following: an angle plate(10) installed around the storage tank in the vertical direction; an expansion joint installed on the angle plate; a wire(30) coupled to the expansion joint, and installed to the horizontal direction of the storage tank; and a thermal insulation panel(40) including a thermal insulation material(42) located in between the storage tank and the panel.
