    Abstract: PURPOSE: A removal method of chromium ions from effluent is provided to adjust the component content, the surface area, and the reaction time of a glass composition for effectively removing the chromium ions. CONSTITUTION: A removal method of chromium ions from effluent comprises the following steps: adjusting the pH of the effluent containing the chromium ions(Cr^6+) into 3-5; and adding a borosilicate based glass composition into the effluent, and reacting the mixture to segregate crystals containing the chromium ions on the surface of glass. The borosilicate based glass composition contains 15-55mol% of silicon dioxide, 10-40mol% of boron trioxide(B2O3), 5-30mol% of sodium oxide(Na2O), and 15-40mol% of one alkaline earth metal oxide selected from MgO, CaO, SrO, or BaO.
