PURPOSE: A composition containing Dioscorea batatas Decaisne or extract thereof is provided to prevent or treat allergic diseases including anaphylaxis. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating allergic diseases contains Dioscorea batatas Decaisne or extract thereof as an active ingredient. The extract is extract liquid prepared by adding solvent to Dioscorea batatas Decaisne or concentrated liquid thereof. The solvent is water, polar solvent of ethanol, and non polar solvent of hexane. The composition is manufactured in the form of a tablet, pill, granule, soft/hard capsule, powder, emulsion, syrup, or pellet.

CONSTITUTION: A composition for suppressing monocyte adhesion comprises 0.02-90 wieght% ginsenoside Rh1 of the chemical formula I. The composition also comprises a compound K of chemical formula II. A ginseng extract is produced by extracting a ginseng with water or low alcohol such as methanol, ethanol, and propanol.

CONSTITUTION: The shuttle vector pLeuCM for Leuconostoc sp. and E. coli comprises a DNA replication origin of Escherichia coli(E. coli); a DNA replication origin of Leuconostic sp.; a selection marker for E. coli selected from ampicillin resistance gene, chloramphenicol resistance gene, tetracycline resistance gene and leucine amino acid synthesis gene; a selection marker for Leuconostoc sp. selected from chloramphenicol resistance gene, erythromycin resistance gene, kanamycin resistance gene and ampicillin resistance gene; and a multiple cloning site with various restriction enzyme recognition sites, wherein the shuttle vector pLeuCM has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.

PURPOSE: A health supplementary food containing an extract or powder of Salicornia herbacea Linne and a food acceptable additive is provided. It exhibits excellent effect on enhancing intestinal regulation such as the growth of bifidus and lactic acid bacteria. CONSTITUTION: The supplementary food contains 20 parts by weight of Salicornia herbacea powder, 5 parts by weight of bifidus powder, 1 part by weight of lactobacillus powder, 30 part by weight of oligosaccharide and 0.5 parts by weight of vitamin. The effective dosage amount of the Salicornia herbacea extract is 100 to 250mg/kg. For intestinal regulation, the extract or powder of Salicornia herbacea Linne is added to food or beverages in an amount of 0.1 to 12% by weight or 1 to 30g, based on the total weight of the food or 100ml beverage.

A method for converting isoflavone into isoflavone aglucon comprises fermenting isoflavone-containing plants using Bifidobacterium lactis IF65(KCCM-10347), wherein isoflavone-containing plant is selected from soybean, arrowroot, clover, alfalfa, black beans, Glycyrrizae Radix, Medicage sativa L. and pomegranate; the isoflavone-containing plants are pretreated using protease; and the protease is selected from promod, alcalase, neutrase and papain.
