    摘要: A method and an apparatus for adjusting positions of preceding and following metal strips in the width direction and a continuous rolling mill used in the same are provided to reduce width displacement as much as possible at a joining position of the metal strips, make it possible to correct bending by a side guide unit displaced at the entrance side of a finish rolling mill, and perform a finish rolling operation while reducing bending of the entire lengths of the metal strips. An apparatus for adjusting positions of preceding and following metal strips in the width direction comprises: a joining unit for joining a tail end of a preceding sheet bar that proceeds in the pass line direction with a top end of the preceding sheet bar; first and second bending-measuring instruments(20,21) for detecting the bending state of the tail end of the preceding sheet bar and a top end of a following sheet bar before joining the tail end of the preceding sheet bar with the top end of the following sheet bar; fourth and fifth longitudinal roller pairs(25a,25b,26a,26b) for moving at least one of the preceding sheet bar and the following sheet bar in the width direction from a joining position; and a control device(30) for controlling driving of the fourth and fifth longitudinal roller pairs based on detection signals from the first and second bending-measuring instruments to reduce displacement in the width directional center of the tail end of the preceding sheet bar and the top end of the following sheet bar at the joining position.

After, a gap between the target plate profile and the average is obtained, a calibration bending force is obtained by using the gap. Accordingly, the initial bending force is calibrated as much as the calibration bending force.
