Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for detecting a fire in a thermal power plant is provided to allow a user to manage a fire by determining a fire in specific place such as a thermal power plant accurately. CONSTITUTION: An ambient temperature is detected through a temperature sensor which is installed along a transmission line of a thermal power plant(ST100). Temperature data is detected through the temperature sensor(ST200). A fire is detected through temperature sensing information including temperature data. A warn signal is operated in case of the fire(ST300). A temperature sensing process comprises a first temperature sensing step and a second temperature sensing step: The first temperature sensing step of sensing the temperature of each section partitioning the transmission line; and the second temperature sensing step of sensing the temperature of n-th and(n+1)-th section respectively.
