An impermeable or semi-permeable reactive barrier, and a system and a method for removing or blocking pollutants using the reactive barrier are provided to manufacture a barrier having a function of removing pollutants contained in water as well as a function of suppressing the flow of water, by manufacture the barrier using an adsorbing material, a decomposing material, or a detoxifying material. An impermeable or semi-permeable reactive barrier is manufactured by inputting consolidated stuff to the ground in a jet type, an injection type, a mix type, or a digging type and joining the consolidated material to soil of the ground. The consolidate stuff is prepared by consolidating a predetermined mixture into a consolidating material for reinforcing the ground. The predetermined mixture is prepared by mixing one or more selected from an adsorbing material for adsorbing pollutants, a decomposing material for decomposing pollutants, and a detoxifying material for detoxifying pollutants.

A smart sensor is installed in an inside or two contacting surfaces of one of an original pondside, a clay liner layer, a non-woven fabric, a GCL(Geosynthetic Clay Liner), a liner layer, a geo-composite, a wasted water draining layer, a waste tire protection layer, an earth and sand bag layer, and a reclamation material layer which are formed at a bottom part, a wall surface part, a slope part, and an inside of a landfill, a lagoon, a pond, a lake, and a storage tank. The smart sensor is used for sensing the leakage of the wasted water, the contaminated water, the stored water, and the stored solution which are formed or stored in the inside of the landfill, the lagoon, the pond, the lake, and the storage tank.

A permeable reactive pile barrier and underground contamination control using the same are provided to remove pollutants by combining a permeable pile with a permeable barrier and injecting reactive materials in the permeable reactive pile barrier. A method for constructing a permeable reactive pile barrier system includes the steps of: preparing a permeable reactive pile barrier by injecting a reactive mixture in a slurry wall and an underground excavation barrier excavated by an excavator, where the reactive mixture is formed by mixing permeable materials such as sand, pebbles and rubbles with at least one of zeolite, zero-valent metal, zero-valent iron, slag, bentonite, perlite, lime, gypsum, activated carbon, waste tire, waste molding sand, shell, yellow earth, carbon, ion-exchange resin and microorganisms which adsorb and control pollutants; perforating a hollow pile in the underground; injecting the reactive mixture in the hollow pile; and installing the permeable reactive pile and the permeable reactive pile barrier in the underground alternately or subsequently.
