Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a full-ceramic dental restoration, comprising heat pressing of a tooth coloured pressing glass on a fully or partially supporting structure of yttria doped tetragonal zirconia (YTZP), comprised of yttria doped tetragonal zirconia ceramic having a grain size, as measured by the linear intercept method, of less than 0.6 mum, wherein the pressing glass has a thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) of between 9.0 and 11.0 mum/m.K (measured in the range of from 25 to 500°C) and wherein the pressing glass has a pressing temperature of between 750 and 1000°C. In a further aspect, the invention relates to a full-ceramic dental restoration, comprising a fully or partially supporting structure of yttria doped tetragonal zirconia (YTZP) and a heat pressed tooth coloured pressing glass, which restoration is modelled to be in occlusal contact with opposing teeth and in mesio-distal contact with neighbouring teeth.

Object of the present invention is to provide a preparation for oral cavity that is appropriately usable as a prophylactic agent for dental caries, a therapeutic agent for dental caries at early stage, a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent for dentinal hypersensitivity, a preparation for the lining of a dentin cavity surface, or the like, which has a superior effect of sealing the dentinal tubules, is capable of improving the acid resistance of the teeth and re-calcifying the teeth, ensures a short-time treatment with an easy operation, and has a high safety and good aesthetic properties. The object is achieved by a prepaation for oral cavity such as a prophylactic agent for dental caries and/or a therapeutic agent for dental caries at early stage, a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent for dentinal hypersensitivity, a preparation for the lining of a dentin cavity surface, or the like, consisting of a liquid (A),in which fluoro-alumino-silicate glass microparticles are dispersed, and an aqueous inorganic phosphoric acid solution(B).

Raw compact (3) comprising a binding phase of one or more powdered binding agents, which raw compact has the capacity, following saturation with a liquid reacting with binding agents, to form a chemically bound ceramic material, and which raw compact preferably has a degree of compactness of 55-67 percent by volume solid phase. According to the invention, the raw compact (3) also comprises one or more expansion-compensating additives adapted to give the material dimensionally stable long-term properties. The invention also relates to a method of manufacture of the ceramic material, and a compaction device and a compaction body for compacting the saturated raw compacts.

A method of treating sensitive teeth includes (1) attaching a fluoride releasing glass composition to a person's tooth, and (2) allowing fluoride to be slowly released over time in order to reduce chronic and/or acute tooth sensitivity. A preferred glass composition comprises the general empirical formula given below, expressed in approximate weight percent of the element: P: 16-24, F: 5-30, O: 20-44 and at least one of Na, K, Li, or Al in an amount up to a total of about 40 weight percent and optionally, up to about 5 weight percent of boron and/or silicon.
