    Abstract: PURPOSE: A tension operation control system and a tension operation control method are provided to control tension applied to rolled strip by controlling rolling speed of the front stand after operating tension applied to rolled strip between front and rear stands. CONSTITUTION: In a system for controlling tension generated between neighboring stands in hot rolling mill, the tension control system comprises a data collection part(11) for detecting speed of electric motor(5), armature voltage of the electric motor, armature current of the electric motor and roll force for a plural strips when strip bar is advanced into front stand(3a); a learning data operation/storage part(13) for storing results of operation of average roll force (Fs) and roll force coefficient (As) of the strips using roll force for a plural strips worked in pertinent stand; a surface average roll force operation part(15) for operating average roll force of unit surface area by the following expression (Fu=(Tl-AF)/BWΔH) by using rolling torque, average roll force, roll force coefficient and torque coefficient after operating electric motor torque (Ta) using the collected data, operating rolling torque (Tl) using the operated electric motor torque (Ta) and accelerated and decelerated torque (Tb), and operating torque coefficient considering frictional coefficient of roll and radius of flat roll; a speed conversion part(17) for converting the obtained average roll force of unit surface area into compensation speed for tension control; and an electric motor speed control part(19) for controlling driver of the front stand by the calculation results after calculating compensation speed obtained considering reference speed and converted speed VF.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A controlling method of reel tension and speed of skin pass mill is provided to reduce slip inside coil, reduce slipping defects and improve actual yield of products accordingly by controlling initial operation tension in multistep for the top part of the coil and controlling rolling speed in multistep for the end part of the coil. CONSTITUTION: In a reel tension and speed control method applied to a skin pass mill which performs temper rolling by transferring coil coiled on payoff reel to work rolls through pressure roll and winds the coil as the top part of the coil is being gripped by tension reel, the method comprises first step (S61) in which when the coil arrives at the work rolls by advancing the coil mounted on the payoff reel, the work rolls are pushed up to turn on tension, and tension of the work rolls is increased to a set tension; second step (S62) in which when the tension of the work rolls reaches the set tension, tension control of the payoff reel is started, and tension of the payoff reel is increased and controlled stepwise at set time intervals from control time point; third step (S63) in which when the top part of the coil passing through the work rolls is gripped by the tension reel, output side tension and trading are turned on, and recoiling is started to perform operation at a normal operation speed of 270 to 400 m/min; fourth step (S64) of judging whether residual amount of the coil come to a set residual amount or not by continuously computing the residual amount of the coil of the payoff reel while performing operation of the third step (S63), and proceeding operation process at the normal operation speed of the third step (S63) before the residual amount of the coil come to the set residual amount; and fifth step (S65) of reducing speed of the payoff reel stepwise according to the preset residual amount if current residual amount of the coil come to a set residual amount in the fourth step (S64).
