종래에는 쓰레기통이나 자전거에 적용되는 잠금장치는 길이가 제한 적이어서 크기가 다른 쓰리기통의 경우에는 각각 다른 크기의 잠금장치를 구비해야 하고 자전거의 경우에도 잠금장치의 크기가 제한적이어서 기둥의 직경이 클 경우에는 잠금을 하지 못하게 됨으로써 사용이 매우 불편하게 되는 등의 문제점들이 있었는데 이를 해결하기 위하여, 전면 고정부재(12)의 선단에 결합되며 하측에는 관통구멍(13a)이 형성되고, 상측에는 열쇠뭉치(14)가 결합된 하우징(13)과, 상기 하우징(13)에 삽입 또는 분리되며 복수 개의 잠금홈(32)을 형성한 잠금부재(30)로 구성된 잠금수단(100)을 포함하고, 상기 열쇠뭉치(14)에는 상기 잠금홈(32) 내에 삽입 또는 이탈되는 로킹바(15)가 구비된 것을 특징으로 하는 도난 방지용 잠금장치를 제공한다.
