    Abstract: Nitro-compounds are hydrogenated with an activated Ni catalyst whose Ni/Al alloy also contained one or more elements from the list of Cu, Ag and Au prior to activation. In combination with the Group IB elements mentioned above, this catalyst can also be doped with other elements via their addition to the Ni/Al alloy prior to activation and/or they can be adsorbed onto the surface of the catalyst either during or after the activation of the alloy. The suitable doping elements for the alloy prior to activation in combination with the group IB elements mentioned above are one or more of the elements from the list of Mg, Ti, Ce, Cr, V, Mo, W, Mn, Re, Fe, Co, Ir, Ru, Rh, Pd, Pt and Bi.     Abstract: A method for preparing aromatic amines is provided to induce overwhelmingly improved economic efficiency, high selectivity, and long cycle time in a simple manner and to save expense for an expensive catalyst because a large amount of water is not used. A method for preparing aromatic amines represented by the following formula 1 includes the steps of: (1) performing hydrogenation under a heat-insulating condition at (a) an absolute pressure of 1-50 bar, (b) a gas mixture inflow temperature of 150-400 °C, and (c) a highest catalyst temperature of 600 °C; (2) passing a gas mixture through a fixed catalyst when hydrogenation is initiated, wherein the gas mixture comprises (i) 3-150 moles of hydrogen per nitrogen group 1 mole, and (ii) 1-100 moles of water per nitro group 1 mole; and (3) hydrogenating nitro aromatic compounds represented by the following formula 2 with hydrogen on a fixed catalyst, wherein hydrogen without substantially containing aromatic amines separated from a reaction mixture during hydrogenation returns to the hydrogenation reaction.

    Abstract: A preparation method of aniline is provided to purify crude aniline by adding an aqueous solution of alkali metal hydroxide to the crude aniline before and/or during distillation. A preparation method of aniline comprises the steps of: hydrogenating nitrobenzene in the presence of a catalyst to prepare crude aniline; and purifying the crude aniline by single-stage or multi-stage distillation. An aqueous solution of alkali metal hydroxide is added to the crude aniline before and/or during distillation of the crude aniline. The aqueous solution of alkali metal hydroxide is adjusted to keep a molar ratio of alkali metal hydroxide to phenolic compound present in the crude aniline in the range of 0.1:1 to 10:1.
