The nitrogen-containing dispersant is preferably selected from: (i)the reaction product of a hydrocarbyl-substituted carboxylic acid or derivative thereof with an amine which product includes a hydrocarbyl substituent of at least 8 carbon atoms; (ii)a long chain aliphatic amine comprising a hydrocarbyl group of at least 8 carbon atoms; and (iii) the Mannich reaction product of a phenol, an amine and an aldehyde.

An additive mixture, a method for preparing terpolymer, a method for improving the fluidity of fuel oil, a composition comprising the additive mixture, and a fuel composition comprising the additive mixture are provided to have a useful application to improve cold properties of fuel oil. An additive mixture comprises at least one terpolymer(A) of ethylene, propene and at least one ethylene-based unsaturated ester, and at least one additive component of 0.5-20 wt%. The terpolymer contains 6.0-12.0 mol % of structural units derived from at least one ethylene-based unsaturated ester having a C1-C3 alkyl radical, 0.5-4.0 methyl groups derived from propene per 100 aliphatic carbon atoms, and less than 8.0 methyl groups from chain ends per 100 CH2 groups. The additive component is effective as a cold additive for mineral oil, based on the terpolymer. The additive component is selected from at least one copolymer(B1) of ethylene and an ethylene-based unsaturated compound, a comb-shaped polymer(B2), and a mixture(B3) of the copolymer and the comb-shaped polymer. A content of ethylene-based unsaturated compound in the copolymer is higher than a content of the ethylene-based unsaturated ester in the terpolymer by no less than 2 mol%. Further, the ethylene-based unsaturated ester is a vinyl ester of carboxylic acid having 1~4 carbon number.

Additives for low-sulfur mineral oil distillates, comprising aromatic compounds having a hydroxyl group, a methoxy group and an acid functional group are provided to improve flowability and especially paraffin dispersion degree under cold conditions in the mineral oils or mineral oil distillates by adding suitable cold additives comprising aromatic compounds containing hydroxyl, methoxy and carboxyl groups to mineral oils or mineral oil distillates. An additive for fuel oils comprises: at least one copolymer of ethylene and an unsaturated ester; at least one oil-soluble polar nitrogen compound which is a reaction product of amines of the formula NR^6R^7R^8 (wherein R^6, R^7 and R^8 may be identical or different, at least one of R^6, R^7 and R^8 is an alkyl with 8 to 36 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl with 6 to 36 carbon atoms, an alkenyl with 8 to 36 carbon atoms, particularly an alkyl with 12 to 24 carbon atoms, an alkenyl or cyclohexyl with 12 to 24 carbon atoms, and the remaining groups are hydrogen, an alkyl with 1 to 36 carbon atoms, an alkenyl with 2 to 36 carbon atoms, cyclohexyl or a group of the formula -(A-O)x-E or a group of the formula -(CH2)n-NYZ in which A is an ethyl or propyl group, x is ranged from 1 to 50, E is hydrogen, an alkyl with 1 to 30 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl with 5 to 12 carbon atoms or an aryl with 6 to 30 carbon atoms, and n is 2, 3 or 4, and Y and Z are each independently H, an alkyl with 1 to 30 carbon atoms or -(A-O)x) with compounds containing at least one acyl group; and at least one aromatic compound of a formula 1, wherein R is H or an alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
