Apparatus and method for eye gaze tracking in human or animal subjects without calibration of cameras, specific measurements of eye geometries or the tracking of a cursor image on a screen by the subject through a known trajectory. One embodiment includes one uncalibrated camera for acquiring video images of the subject's eye(s) and optionally having an on-axis illuminator, and a surface, object, or visual scene with embedded off-axis illuminator markers. The off-axis markers are reflected on the corneal surface of the subject's eyes as glints. The glints indicate the distance between the point of gaze in the surface, object, or visual scene and the corresponding marker on the surface, object, or visual scene.
Abstract:
A cutter hub and blade assembly for cutting polymer strands extruded from a die face in a pelletizer has cutter blades mounted on the cutter hub at a steep angle. The blades are beveled along a portion of their leading edge to form a blunt cutting edge or surface to the blades which is generally perpendicular to the die face. By beveling the leading edge of a blade supported at a steep angle to form a blunt cutting edge, the bottom surface area of the blade in contact with the die face can be significantly reduced. The reduced contact area provides several advantages including a clean cut of the pellets and a faster blade grinding when seating the blades to the die face.

The accessory also includes a first locating bar pivotably coupled to the first locating hole and having a first baffle and a first press plate, and a first elastic element provided between the first press plate and the main body to pivot the first press plate with respect to the main body, and in turn drive the first baffle to protrude above the upper surface of the main body.

A system and method for eye gaze tracking in human or animal subjects without calibration of cameras, specific measurements of eye geometries or the tracking of a cursor image on a screen by the subject through a known trajectory. The preferred embodiment includes one uncalibrated camera for acquiring video images of the subject's eye(s) and optionally having an on-axis illuminator, and a surface, object, or visual scene with embedded off-axis illuminator markers. The off-axis markers are reflected on the corneal surface of the subject's eyes as glints. The glints indicate the distance between the point of gaze in the surface, object, or visual scene and the corresponding marker on the surface, object, or visual scene. The marker that causes a glint to appear in the center of the subject's pupil is determined to be located on the line of regard of the subject's eye, and to intersect with the point of gaze. Point of gaze on the surface, object, or visual scene is calculated as follows. First, by determining which marker glints, as provided by the corneal reflections of the markers, are closest to the center of the pupil in either or both of the subject's eyes. This subset of glints forms a region of interest (ROI). Second, by determining the gaze vector (relative angular or cartesian distance to the pupil center) for each of the glints in the ROI. Third, by relating each glint in the ROI to the location or identification (ID) of a corresponding marker on the surface, object, or visual scene observed by the eyes. Fourth, by interpolating the known locations of each these markers on the surface, object, or visual scene, according to the relative angular distance of their corresponding glints to the pupil center.

An aeration device pertaining to the technical field of sewage treatment includes a flow mixing chamber and an air inlet chamber. The flow mixing chamber has a liquid inlet opening, a liquid outlet opening, and an air inlet hole penetrating the chamber wall and located inside the air inlet chamber. The air inlet chamber has an air inlet opening and an interior space whose cross-sectional area is gradually reduced along the liquid flow direction in the flow mixing chamber. The cross-sectional area and number of the air inlet hole can be properly set in order for the mixed fluid produced by the aeration device to have relatively high-density small-diameter air bubbles that contribute to mixing the liquid flow and air flow sufficiently, dissolving oxygen rapidly and sufficiently into the liquid flow, increasing the oxygen dissolution rate of the mixed fluid, and enhancing aeration efficiency.

One embodiment provides a method for tracking a user's eye gaze at a surface, object, or visual scene, comprising: providing an imaging device for acquiring images of at least one of the user's eves: modeling, measuring, estimating, and/or calibrating for the user's head position: providing one or more markers associated with the surface, object, or visual scene for producing corresponding glints or reflections in the user's eyes; analyzing the images to find said glints or reflections and/or the pupil: and determining eye gaze of the user upon a said one or more marker as indicative of the user's eye gaze at the surface, object, or visual scene.

A fixation device for internally or externally fixing fractures comprising at least one nitinol wire having an S-shaped section and two ends wherein each of said two ends forms a hook for hooking into a bone section of a fractured bone. This device can be made from nitinol which has a transformation temperature between 25° C. and 35° C. In addition, this device can have a diameter between 0.6 mm and 5 mm. The device can be inserted using the following process which starts by cooling the wire below a transfer temperature such that the nitinol wire forms in a martensite state. Next, the nitinol wire is inserted into a interphalangeal bone underneath a patients skin. Next, the nitinol wire to heats up inside a patients body above the transfer temperature. Finally, the wire transforms wire from a martensite state to an austenite state wherein when the nitinol wire elongates in a longitudinal direction to generate a distraction force.

A twin-beam laser module has a housing having a first cylindrical space and a second cylindrical space, which are adjacent and parallel in axial direction to each other. A first laser assembly is directly secured inside the first cylindrical space to output a first laser beam, and an outer cylindrical casing is positioned inside the second cylindrical space. A second laser assembly is provided inside the outer cylindrical casing to output a second laser beam, and an adjustment apparatus adjusts the orientation of the outer cylindrical casing so as to align the first laser beam and the second laser beam to be parallel to each other.
