    Abstract: A system and/or methodology that employs a non-relational (e.g., XML (extensible markup language)) query language to access stored procedures employed in connection with relational (e.g., SQL (structured query language)) database management systems is provided. Stored procedures in SQL enable the predetermination of queries that can be executed against the relational database. The invention bridges the gap between non-relational query languages and relational data stores. In other words, the invention enables the integration of non-relational query languages with relational data stores. The invention can define a view of the relational data in the current data model, convert data from relational to non-relational format and provide a mechanism in which a stored procedure can be referenced from the non-relational query language, using, for example, a function.

    Abstract: A system and method facilitating a unified framework for accessing structured and unstructured data is provided. The invention includes a source document having data that is parsed into a data document component providing a hierarchical representation of data associated with the source document and a data set component providing a relational representation of at least a portion of the data associated with the source document. The invention further provides for a schema defining a structure of the relational representation to be associated with the source document and/or inferred by the data set component. Data stored in the data document component and the data set component are synchronized, thus a change made to data stored in the data set component is reflected in data stored in the data document component. Further, a change made to data stored in the data document component is reflected in data stored in the data set component if utilized according to the schema. The invention further provides for a service to access the hierarchical representation of data associated with the source document and/or a designer to access the relational representation of data associated with the source document.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems, methods and computer storage media for providing Structured Computations Optimized for Parallel Execution (SCOPE) that facilitate analysis of a large-scale dataset utilizing row data of those data sets. SCOPE includes, among other features, an extract command for extracting data bytes from a data stream and structuring the data bytes as data rows having strictly defined columns. SCOPE also includes a process command and a reduce command that identify data rows as inputs. The reduce command also identifies a reduce key that facilitates the reduction based on the reduce key. SCOPE additionally includes a combine command that identifies two data row sets that are to be combined based on an identified joint condition. Additionally, SCOPE includes a select command that leverages SQL and C# languages to create an expressive script that is capable of analyzing large-scale data sets in a parallel computing environment.
