摘要： A system provides communication between components of a computer data storage system using out-of-band (OOB) signaling. The system includes a plurality of data storage devices having a local controller for directing data flow to each of the plurality of data storage devices. A switch is coupled to the local controller to direct data to the set of the plurality of data storage devices. First and second initiators are coupled to the switch. The first initiator communicates the OOB signals through the switch alternatively to the local controller or to the second initiator.
