Abstract:
A method of producing a static resistant synthetic inter-connectable structural mat which can support vehicles, heavy equipment, and drilling rigs with static charge resistance, resistance to corrosive materials, and an ability to be transported using conventional trucks on conventional roadways. The method uses polyethylene particles, polyethylene terephthalate particles, styrene-butadiene rubber particles, and antistatic particles for preventing static charge buildup. The antistatic particles have a diameter from about 1/16 of an inch to about ¼ of an inch to allow for partial protrusion through a formed outer surface and an ultraviolet stabilizer material.
Abstract:
A method making an oil field mat from a plurality of synthetic board to create a tri-layer oil field mat usable to support trucks, equipment, and personnel around a derrick, or a Christmas tree having central couplers and end caps.
Abstract:
An end cap assembly for interlocking with an oil field mat usable to support trucks, equipment and personnel around a drilling rig. The end cap assembly having an elongated base layer, a base layer coupler, a top layer, a middle layer, a plurality of holes, a plurality of fasteners and a plurality of coupler fasteners. Each coupler fastener can be disposed through the holes in the board of the end cap assembly to form a base layer coupler to create a tri-layer oil field mat.
Abstract:
An oil field mat assembly having a pair of interlocking full mats connected by interlocking half mats. Each full mat has a bottom layer, a bottom interlocking segment formed on the bottom layer, a middle layer, an alignment control means, a top layer, a top interlocking segment formed on the top layer on the same side that the top layer connects to the middle layer, and an anti-curling bar.
