摘要: A composition for three-dimension (3D) printing, a method for 3D printing, and a resulting article having porous structure are provided. Such a composition includes from 50% to 100% by weight of a base polymer comprising polyolefin (such as ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene), from 0% to 50% by weight of a glue polymer (such as HDPE or PP), and optionally additive. A composition can be applied in a layer, and the base polymer and the glue polymer each has a predetermined size or size distribution. The composition is sintered in a selected area to form a layer of a solid article, which has a predetermined pore size or pore size distribution. The predetermined particle size or size distribution for each of the base polymer and the glue polymer is determined through computer simulation based on the predetermined pore size or pore size distribution in the layer of the solid article.

It would be desirable to prepare films from recycled polyethylene, however, the technical demands for many types of films can make this very difficult. Provided herein are films, for example, stretch films; shrink films; films for vacuum packages and films for dunnage packaging, that may be prepared from a blend of recycled polyethylene with “virgin” polyethylene.

摘要: Methods and systems disclosed herein can treat biomass compositions to produce valuable products, reduce emissions, and decarbonize biomass. The biomass compositions can be raw biomass (e.g., green, woody-plant derived) or waste biomass (e.g., industrial waste, pulp and paper processes, construction materials). The biomass compositions can be mixed with a reagent to form a mixture. The reagent can include ammonia. The mixture can be reacted to separate one or more components from the biomass and form a treated biomass composition. The one or more components can include lignin, polylactic acid, carbon oxides, methane, minerals, volatiles, or semi-volatiles. The treated biomass can be dried and processed into heating pellets that have higher calorific value and fewer emissions than conventional heating chips. The separated components can be used to produce valuable products, such as wood composites, bioplastics, fertilizer, fuels, lignin anodes for batteries, additives, glues, resins, and bio-based carbon fiber.

The shutdown reducing additives decrease the shutdown temperature of polymer articles made from the polymer composition. In one embodiment, the polymer composition is used to form a porous membrane for use of a battery separator.

The resin molded body containing a thermoplastic resin, plate-like graphite, at least one of carbon black and metal fibers, the content of the plate-like graphite being 50 parts by weight or more and 200 parts by weight or less, relative to 100 parts by weight of the thermoplastic resin, the carbon black having a DBP oil absorption of 100 ml/100 g or more and 600 ml/100 g or less, the metal fibers having a diameter of 5 μm or more and 20 μm or less, the metal fibers having a fiber length of 2 mm or more and 12 mm or less, and the content of at least one of the carbon black and the metal fibers being 1 part by weight or more and 50 parts by weight or less, relative to 100 parts by weight of the thermoplastic resin.

摘要: Polymer compositions for making a stabilized polymeric articles that are resistant to discoloration upon exposure to UV-C light having: (i) an organic polymeric material; and (ii) a hindered phenol, organic phosphite, or a combination thereof, with the provisos that: (a) the OH group on the aromatic ring of the hindered phenol is flanked by two tertiary hydrocarbyl groups, and (b) the organic phosphite does not have any-OAr group linked directly to the P atom of the phosphite, wherein Ar represents an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group, are provided herein. Reduced discoloration is associated with the use of specific hindered phenols and the organic phosphites compared to other hindered phenols and organic phosphites, even in the absence of other polymer additives including UV absorbers, hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), metal oxides and/or barium salts. Methods of reducing discoloration of an organic polymeric material upon exposure to UV-C light are also provided, wherein such methods include the step of adding to the organic polymeric material a stabilizing amount of hindered phenol, organic phosphite, or a combination thereof.

摘要: The present disclosure provides polyolefin compositions and films and method for producing such films. The polyolefin composition contains about 40 wt % to about 95 wt % of a BOCD polyethylene and about 10 wt % to about 60 wt % of a polypropylene, by weight of the polyolefin composition. The polyolefin composition has a 1% secant flexural modulus MD of greater than 250 MPa and a 1% secant flexural modulus TD of greater than 300 MPa, as determined for a layer of the polyolefin composition having a thickness of about 50 μm and a Dart Impact (Method A) of greater than 15 g/μm and an Elmendorf tear MD of greater than 7 g/μm, as determined for a film containing the polyolefin composition and having a thickness of about 90 μm.
