    摘要: A method and apparatus for determining the center of gravity of an aircraft having a plurality of wheels includes the steps of determining the load on one of the plurality of aircraft wheels, determining the aircraft inclination with respect to level, relating the wheel load to the aircraft center of gravity based on the aircraft inclination. The load determination may be conducted on the aircraft nose wheel using a lever apparatus including a frame having a forward end and an aft end the aft end including an attachment device located at the aft end for providing detachable engagement with the wheel axle. The lever apparatus also includes a pivot arm having a first end and a second end, the first end pivotally attached to the frame at a pivot point located between the forward end and the aft end of the frame. A load cell is positioned on the frame so as to be engaged by the pivot arm as the pivot arm pivots about the pivot point for generating a signal indicative of the force generated on the frame as the wheel is raised. The lever apparatus operates about a fulcrum point located forward of the frame aft end about which the lever apparatus raises the aircraft wheel. A processor may be provided for receiving the load cell signal and determining wheel load.

    摘要: Apparatus for use in seismic exploration comprising energy propogating means for directing energy downwardly vertically into an earth formation and means for receiving and recording such energy reflected vertically upwardly from a sub-surface bed or strata. The apparatus includes an energy source housing of generally dome shape adapted to be placed in a downwardly opening position on the bottom, and within which an energy source may be discharged to generate a vertically downwardly directed force against the sea floor, and a receptor or seismometer housing also of generally doe shape adapted to be similarly positioned on the sea bottom to receive vertically upwardly reflected energy from subsurface strata. The invention also includes a method of seismic exploration which comprises propagating vertically downwardly directed energy at the earths surface and receiving and recording the vertically upwardly reflected energy from a subsurface formation, to provide information concerning the location and character of such formation.

    摘要: The invention provides a real time process control system for control of machinery. The system has a master control module and a slave control module which receives control signals from the master control module. Both control modules send control signals to a control effector and cause changes in at least one effect causing quality of the control effector. The slave control module establishes a target value for the effect causing quality of the control effector based on the signal it receives from the master microprocessor. A sensor connected to the control effector and to the slave control module provides signals in the slave control module which indicate an actual value for the effect causing quality of the control effector. A feedback loop controls the control signal from the slave microprocessor to the control effector to adjust the value of its effect causing quality in accordance with the target value. In the event that the signal from the master control module to the slave control module is interrupted a discrepancy between actual and target values of the effect causing quality indicates interruption of the signal. The invention provides an increased deadband for the feedback loop to permit a discrepancy large enough to be detectable and useable as an indication of interruption of the signal from the master control module to the slave control module.
