摘要： A foam in bag cushion precursor is disclosed that is particularly useful for manual operation. The cushion precursor comprises a bag formed of two sheets of flexible plastic film material closed on all four side edges; a frangible seal that defines separate interior cells in a portion of the bag; a first foam precursor composition in one of the interior cells; and a second foam precursor composition in another of the interior cells. One of the cells has a nonfrangible seal wall other than one of the side edges for directing the contents of the cell to mix with the contents of the other cell before the mixed contents enter the remaining portion of said bag.

摘要： A foam-in-bag packaging system is disclosed that comprises a mixing device for mixing foam precursors in a bag of flexible plastic film material sealed on all four sides by respective edge seals and having a plurality of frangible seals therein defining three separate interior cells in the bag. Two of the cells separately contain a first and second foam precursor composition and the cells are located at one end of the bag. The remainder of the bag is vented for permitting gases to escape from the bag as the foam precursors form foam while preventing foam or foam precursors from escaping from the bag. The mixing device ruptures the frangible seals to form a single interior cell and mixes the first and second foam precursors. The mixing device includes a cylindrical chamber to confine the one end portion of the bag containing the two cells with precursors therein, a clamp for clamping the bag adjacent these cells with the remainder of the bag projecting outwardly from the cylindrical chamber, and rollers within the chamber for rupturing the frangible seals and mixing the foam precursors within the one end portion of the bag while the clamp prevents the precursors from entering the remaining portion of the bag.

摘要： A convective warmer for flexible plastic bags containing foam precursor chemicals includes an outer housing and an inner enclosure supported within the housing, the inner enclosure having foraminous floor and ceiling plates and foraminous dividers which divide the inner enclosure into vertical compartments for containing vertical stacks of bags. An air space exists between the housing and the inner enclosure, and a forced-air heater is arranged to heat air within the air space and circulate the heated air from the air space, through the foraminous floor plate into the compartments, and out the foraminous ceiling plate back into the air space. A loading door provides access to upper portions of the compartments for loading bags into the warmer, and a dispensing door provides access to lower portions of the compartments for removing a bottommost bag from a stack of bags in the warmer.

摘要： A foam-in-bag packaging system and method of forming the same is provided in which a bag of flexible plastic film material includes superposed panels joined around their peripheral edges to define an enclosed space which is vented to the outside of the bag by venting perforations in the panels, a packet or pouch of barrier material capable of maintaining foam precursor components in a stable, unreacted state for an extended time period is positioned in the enclosed space in the bag adjacent one end thereof and secured from movement therefrom, the packet has first and second compartments therein separated by a first frangible seal extending across the packet and first and second foam precursor components contained respectively in the first and second compartments, the packet has a second frangible seal between one of the compartments and the enclosed space in the bag, the bag being folded along spaced transverse fold lines into a relatively compact form and being folded along a fold line coincident with the first frangible seal to form a mechanical barrier between the first and second compartments of the packet, and a detachable label holding the bag in its folded, compact form.
