Abstract: Method of purifying water, such as sea water, by low temperature evaporation thereof under conditions of reduced pressure to produce a gaseous mixture of water vapor and non-condensible gas and, subsequent to substantial condensation of the water vapor, encapsulation of the remaining uncondensed water vapor and the non-condensible gases in a downwardly flowing vertical column of foamed encapsulating liquid.
