Abstract: An extendable augmented reality (AR) system for recognizing objects. The AR system may incorporate plugins to improve the AR system's ability to recognize objects, such as by adding external matchable data or using external recognition algorithms. The plugins may be installed/activated dynamically by a user to expand the system's AR capabilities. The AR system may also incorporate plugins to improve the AR system's post-recognition features such as supplying a user with supplemental content or follow-up functionality. The AR system may filter communications with the plugins to centralize identification processes, to shield plugins, and to ensure plugins are only activated at appropriate times.

Abstract: A user may order items that may be made available at a facility such as a pickup facility. Described are techniques for preparing and expediting an order for pick up by the user. In one implementation, geolocation data acquired from a user device may be used to determine when the user has entered a geofence associated with the facility. Based on this geolocation data and sensor data from sensors at the facility, a system may automatically identify the user. Once identified, the items in the order may be delivered to the user in a parking area of the pickup facility, who may then depart the pickup facility.

Abstract: Interactive parking facilities may include one or more computer displays or other output devices for providing information to occupants of vehicles arriving at the parking facilities, and for providing information to workers tasked with delivering items to such occupants. A vehicle and/or an occupant may be identified at a parking space, and an ordered item associated with the vehicle or the occupant may then be placed in a staging area. Instructions to deliver the item from the staging area to the vehicle may be displayed to a worker, and information regarding the pending arrival of the item may be displayed to the occupant, on one or more computer displays. Thus, the fulfillment of an order may be triggered upon detecting the arrival of the vehicle at a parking space, and the delivery of the one or more items to the vehicle may be guided based on such information.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for merging optical character recognized (OCR'd) text from frames of image data. In some implementations, a device sends frames of image data to a server, where each frame includes at least a portion of a captured textual item. The server performs optical character recognition (OCR) on the image data of each frame. When OCR'd text from respective frames is returned to the device from the server, the device can perform matching operations on the text, for instance, using bounding boxes and/or edit distance processing. The device can merge any identified matches of OCR'd text from different frames. The device can then display the merged text with any corrections.
