Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods described herein provide users with access to a weight-based shipping service that enables the users to purchase a group of items and pay a flat shipping fee. These systems and methods can enable a user to combine certain items into a box or set of boxes based on weight for a reduced shipping cost. In addition, systems and methods described herein can recommend items to users for purchase based at least in part on the items that a user has added to a box, including based on remaining weight in the box.

Abstract: Techniques are provided herein for utilizing a dynamic geo-fence management engine. The techniques include receiving a set of parameters corresponding to a virtual geographic perimeter. A user may be determined based at least in part on a geographical location of the user and the set of parameters corresponding to the virtual geographic perimeter. A notification for the user may be generated, the notification being formatted according to a push notification service protocol the notification including the set of parameters. The notification may be provided to a remote computing device. Receipt of the notification by the remote computing device may cause the remote computing device to provide, to the user, information related to the virtual geographic perimeter.

Abstract: An unauthorized-product detection system may compare data representing various authentication markers of items presumed to have been produced or sourced by a particular entity with stored data representing valid authentication markers of items produced or sourced by the particular entity. The authentication markers may represent inherent physical characteristics of the items or their packaging, or may be generated and applied to the items or their packaging to facilitate counterfeit detection and/or for other purposes. The data (some of which may be encrypted) may be captured using high-resolution cameras, scanners, or other devices, and then communicated to the unauthorized-product detection system for analysis. The system may maintain a data store of data representing captured or valid authentication markers and may store tracking information reflecting the use of various authentication markers. The system may provide various unauthorized product detection services to consumers, retailers, or members of a supply-chain.

Abstract: In some cases, a delivery service system may include a handheld electronic device for use with a delivery service (e.g., a grocery delivery service). When operating in a voice input mode, the handheld electronic device may record and store audio data in memory. The stored audio data may be communicated from the handheld electronic device (e.g., via a Wi-Fi connection) to the delivery service for speech processing. When operating in a scanner input mode, the handheld electronic device may record and store item identifier information (e.g., barcode data) in memory. The stored data may be communicated to the delivery service for item identification processing. In some cases, a user interface associated with the delivery service may allow the user to review and confirm an order prior to submission of the order for delivery.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for tracking and verifying the authenticity of items. Public and private unique identifiers are generated for an item, and an identifier label is printed and affixed to the item. The public identifier is visible, but the private identifier is not visible unless a tamper-evident action is performed. Events involving scans of the public identifier are recorded. The private identifier is scanned by a client, and in response, authenticity information for the item is sent to the client. The authenticity information is determined based at least in part on the events relative to the public identifier.
