    摘要: An apparatus, method and system are disclosed for providing a default mode for authentication failures in a mobile telecommunication network. The system includes an authentication center (typically co-located within a home location register), an adjunct network entity, and an originating mobile switching center. The home location register generally stores information pertaining to a mobile unit, such as a cellular or PCS mobile telephone. The adjunct network entity contains one or more application nodes, such as an announcement application node for providing an announcement on a call leg to the mobile unit. When the network has been accessed by a mobile unit through a call leg, the originating mobile switching center is configured to perform an authentication procedure. The originating mobile switching center further is configured, when the authentication procedure has resulted in an authentication failure, to receive a message from the authentication center to deny the mobile unit access to the network, to terminate a communication session with the mobile unit, and to route the call leg to the announcement application node for the provision of an announcement on the call leg to the mobile unit. Following such an announcement, the originating switching center is also configured to route the call leg to a customer service center, for example, to reprogram the mobile unit.

    摘要: When a subscriber record is moved from a first HLR to a second HLR that utilizes a different protocol, the wireless communication system sends two queries for location information for the mobile station, one to the first HLR and one to the second HLR, simultaneously. Two responses are received, one from each of the HLRs. The valid response is recorded in a separate table for future use. The invalid response is discarded. The next time a call comes in for the mobile station, the table is traversed to determine if the HLR has been updated for the mobile station. If so, the location request is sent only to the system in the table. If the table does not include information for the called mobile station, simultaneous queries are sent to the first and second HLRs.

    摘要: An apparatus, method and system are provided for automatic telecommunication conferencing and broadcasting. The system embodiment includes a switch for reception of a first incoming call leg designating a multiple leg service, such as a telecommunication conference, and also designating a subscriber group. Each particular subscriber group is predefined, and consists of a list of directory numbers to be included within the conference or broadcast session. The system embodiment also includes a conference bridge coupled to the switch, in which the conference bridge includes instructions to receive the first incoming call leg routed from the switch, to determine the plurality of directory numbers associated with the subscriber group, and to return to the switch a plurality of intermediate incoming call legs corresponding to the plurality of directory numbers for routing by the switch to form a plurality of outgoing call legs. The conference bridge also includes further instructions to monitor answering of the plurality of outgoing call legs, and to connect an outgoing call leg indicating joinder, of the plurality of outgoing call legs, to the conference bridge for a multiple leg telecommunication session, such as a conference or broadcast session.

    摘要: An apparatus, method and system are provided for roamer originated automatic telecommunication conferencing and broadcasting. The system embodiment includes a first switch for reception of a first incoming call leg from a roaming mobile unit or from another telecommunication device outside its assigned serving area. The first incoming call leg preferably designates a multiple leg service, such as a telecommunication conference, and also designates a subscriber group. Each particular subscriber group is predefined, and consists of a list of directory numbers to be included within the conference or broadcast session. In the various embodiments, the first switch communicates with a second switch or a database, and obtains a routing directory number to reroute the first incoming call leg, to form a second incoming call leg to the second switch. The system embodiment also includes a conference bridge coupled to the second switch, in which the conference bridge includes instructions to receive the second incoming call leg routed from the second switch, to determine the plurality of directory numbers associated with the subscriber group, and to return to the second switch a plurality of intermediate incoming call legs corresponding to the plurality of directory numbers for routing by the second switch to form a plurality of outgoing call legs. The conference bridge also includes further instructions to monitor answering of the plurality of outgoing call legs, and to connect an outgoing call leg indicating joinder, of the plurality of outgoing call legs, to the conference bridge for a multiple leg telecommunication session, such as a conference or broadcast session.

    摘要: An improved wireless network provides intersystem handoffs between existing circuit wireless systems and packet systems. A packet wireless system is enhanced to provide translation between circuit and packet call models. A Media Gateway translates bearer traffic between formats used in each system. The Media Gateway, a Media Gateway Control Function, and an associated Call State Control Function, cooperate to emulate the behavior of a circuit wireless system, so that when interoperating with conventional circuit systems, the packet system appears to be another circuit wireless system. Where necessary, the Media Gateway, Media Gateway Control Function, and Call State Control Function further cooperate to emulate the functions of an anchor MSC of a circuit wireless system.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method and Mobile Switching Center (MSC) for re-establishing a call in a communication system. The MSC receives from a network element a callback request to re-establish a call, such as an emergency call, between the network element and a mobile unit. The callback request includes a callback number. The MSC determines whether the callback number can be used to alert the mobile unit. If the callback number cannot be used to alert the mobile unit, the MSC determines an identification number of the mobile unit. The MSC then alerts the mobile unit by utilizing the identification number of the mobile unit and re-establishes the call on the original call path between the mobile unit and the network element.
