摘要: A method of driving a plasma display apparatus is disclosed. In the method, a scan pulse is applied to a scan electrode during an address period, and a data pulse corresponding to the scan pulse is applied to an address electrode during the address period. The scan pulse falls from a scan reference voltage to a first intermediate voltage, is maintained at the first intermediate voltage, and falls from the first intermediate voltage to a scan voltage.

摘要: A method of driving a plasma display apparatus is provided. In the method, a positive first pulse and a negative second pulse are alternatively supplied to a first electrode in a sustain period. A second electrode sustains a ground level in a second electrode while the positive first pulse is supplied to the first electrode. Then, the absolute voltage values of the positive first pulse and the negative second pulse are controlled to be different.

摘要: A method of driving a plasma display apparatus is disclosed. In the method, a first pulse of a negative polarity is applied to a scan electrode prior to a reset period. A second pulse is applied to the scan electrode during the reset period. The second pulse gradually rises from a first voltage to a second voltage with a first slop, and then gradually rises from the second voltage to a third voltage with a second slope. The first slope is different from the second slope.

摘要: The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus and a method for driving a plasma display apparatus, and more particularly, to a method for driving a plasma display apparatus including an energy recovery circuit. The plasma display apparatus according to the present invention is characterized in that it includes a path forming unit which serves to supply the first energy to the scan electrode and supply the second energy to the sustain electrode; serves to supply the first sustain voltage to the scan electrode and supply the second sustain voltage to the sustain electrode; serves to supply the first energy to the sustain electrode and supply the second energy to the scan electrode; and also serves to supply the first sustain voltage to the sustain electrode and supply the second sustain voltage to the scan electrode. The plasma display apparatus according to the present invention may useful to reduce a manufacturing cost by using a relatively low rated voltage and therefore inexpensive elements.

摘要: An energy recovery circuit of the present invention includes a panel capacitor, a source capacitor for recovering and charging the voltage of the panel capacitor and re-providing the charged voltage to the panel capacitor, a reference voltage supply unit for supplying a discharge sustain voltage to the panel capacitor, an inductor disposed between the source capacitor and the panel capacitor, a first switch disposed between the inductor and the source capacitor, a second switch disposed between the inductor and the reference voltage supply unit, a third switch disposed between the inductor and the source capacitor, and a fourth switch connected between the inductor and a base potential, wherein the reference voltage supply unit is disposed so as to be connected with the inductor, for supplying any one of a rising pulse having a predetermined slope and a reference voltage having a predetermined voltage value.

摘要: A sustain driving apparatus and method for a plasma display panel that is adaptive for reducing power consumption as well as stabilizing a driving waveform. In the apparatus, a voltage source has a half of the voltage required for a sustain driving of the plasma display panel. An energy recovering circuit is connected between the voltage source and the panel. The energy recovering circuit configures an LC resonance circuit by a switching to recover a power of the panel, thereby applying said sustain driving voltage to the panel.
