The touch panel includes: a plurality of detection scan electrodes extending in a first direction and a plurality of detection electrodes facing the plurality of detection scan electrodes and extending in a second direction which intersects the first direction. A ratio of fringe capacitance to total capacitance between one or more selected detection scan electrodes and a first detection electrode is different from a ratio of fringe capacitance to total capacitance between the one or more selected detection scan electrodes and a second detection electrode. The one or more selected detection scan electrodes are selected, in a desired unit, from the plurality of detection scan electrodes, to be supplied with a selection pulse, and each of the first and the second detection electrodes is selected from the plurality of detection electrodes.

摘要: A plasma display panel is provided having a plurality of scan electrodes and sustain electrodes formed parallel to each other in pairs on a first substrate, and a plurality of address electrodes formed on a second substrate that cross the plurality of first and second electrode pairs. A reset waveform is applied to a scan electrode during a reset period, and a scan pulse that falls from a first voltage level to a second voltage level is applied to the can electrode during an address period. A pre-scan pulse of a third voltage level, which is higher than the first voltage level, is applied to a scan electrode between the reset and address periods, and either a magnitude of the third voltage level or a width of the pre-scan pulse is adjusted according to patterns of subfield data.

摘要: The plasma display panel includes a subfield having a sub-reset period for performing a reset operation in a discharge cell where a sustain-discharge is generated in a previous subfield among a plurality of subfields, and a subfield having a main reset period for performing a reset operation in discharge cells. In a conventional reset period, the wall charge state between a scan electrode and an address electrode may not be uniform because a discharge between the scan electrode and a sustain electrode is generated by a wall voltage between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode formed by a sustain discharge before a discharge between the scan electrode and the address electrode. The wall voltage between the scan and sustain electrodes is erased in the present invention.

摘要: A plasma display apparatus, in which the display quality of a dark image is improved and which uses a subfield method, has been disclosed. The plasma display apparatus comprises a plasma display panel, a sustain pulse cycle changing means for detecting the display load ratio of each subfield and changing the sustain pulse cycle of each subfield according to the display load ratio, and an adaptive subfield number changing means for calculating a vacant time in a display frame generated by changing the sustain pulse cycle, judging whether a subfield can be added according to the vacant time, and determining the number of subfields in the display frame.

摘要: Reset, address, and sustain operations of a plasma display device are performed by applying a driving waveform to a scan electrode while biasing a sustain electrode at a ground voltage. Then a driving board for driving the sustain electrode may be eliminated. In addition, a discharge between the sustain electrode and the scan electrode as well as between an address electrode and the scan electrode may be ensured in an address period by accumulating positive wall charges on the sustain electrode at an end of a falling period of a reset period.

摘要: The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus and method of driving the same, wherein erroneous discharge, miss-discharge and abnormal discharge are prevented, dark room contrast is increased, and operational margin is widened. According to the plasma display apparatus and driving method thereof, a negative voltage is applied to a first electrode, and a positive voltage is applied to a second electrode, whereby wall charges of a positive polarity are accumulated on the first electrode and wall charges of a negative polarity are accumulated on the second electrode, within discharge cells during a pre-reset period. The discharge cells are then initialized using the wall charge distribution of the discharge cells during a reset period.
