Abstract: In one embodiment, a method is described. The method includes receiving a network communication from a source device (where the network communication is received at a network device, and the network communication comprises a sequence number) and determining whether the sequence number is to be modified. In response to a determination that the sequence number is to be modified, the method further includes extracting the sequence number from the network communication, modifying (by a processor of the network device) the sequence number to produce a modified sequence number, and inserting the modified sequence number in the network communication, in place of the sequence number, to produce a modified network communication. Abstract: In one embodiment, a method is described.
