摘要: A method and system for performing a movement of a service within a distributed system. In one embodiment, the method comprises determining one or more locations where the service is to be moved. The method further comprises for each of the one or more locations, computing a metric including a cross-cell cost (C-cost) or a data locality-cost (DL-cost) of the software service if a movement of the software service to a location was to occur, prior to performing the movement of the software service; and modelling a latency and availability of the system due to the movement of the software service to the location based on the metric. The method further comprises performing the movement of the service based on the modelled latency and availability of the system.

摘要: Techniques are described for suppressing data plane traffic using a service monitoring policy for data plane control. If a service provided to a router becomes nonfunctional, preventing the router from being able to forward traffic to a next-hop device, data plane traffic from client devices on the data plane that requires the use of the nonfunctioning service is suppressed. Additionally, new communication pathways to the router that will use the nonfunctioning service are prevented from being established. Traffic is redirected to another router with a functioning service. Thus, traffic that may normally be directed to the router with the nonfunctioning service and not able to be forwarded (e.g., blackholing of data) can be forwarded to the other router.

摘要: A traffic monitoring method for an Open Stack tenant network, including: detecting a traffic in/out state of a first virtual machine by using a callback function; when it is detected that the virtual machine transmits first traffic to a second virtual machine in the same host, matching a first data flow corresponding to the first traffic by using target flow table entries in an integrated bridge, and transmitting a copied first data flow to a traffic monitoring platform; when it is detected that the first virtual machine transmits second traffic to a third virtual machine in a remote host, matching a second data flow corresponding to the second traffic by using the target flow table entries, and transmitting a copied second data flow to a physical bridge; and when the integrated bridge receives the third data flow, transmitting the third data flow to the traffic monitoring platform.

A recovery process controller grants, when the failure is caused by software, the network system recovery permission, and requests, when the failure is caused by hardware, the virtualized infrastructure manager to cause state information on a virtual machine to indicate an error and then grants the recovery permission.

摘要: Systems, computer program products, and methods are described herein for machine learning (ML) based system for network resilience and steering. An example system monitors data movement across one or more network ports; extracts network performance indicators associated with the data movement; determines, via a machine learning (ML) subsystem, that a status of a first network port is indicative of operational failure based on at least the network performance indicators; determines a redundant network port and an intermediate network switch in the same network port cluster as that of the first network port; and triggers the intermediate network switch to reroute a portion of network traffic from the first network port to the redundant network port in response to the status of the first network port by terminating a communication link to the first network port until the operational failure of the first network port is resolved.

摘要: A method implementing a fault-tolerant data warehouse including allocating a plurality of processing units to a data warehouse, the processing units located in different availability zones, an availability zone comprising one or more data centers. The method further includes, as a result of monitoring a number of queries running at an input degree of parallelism on the plurality of processing units of the data warehouse, determining that the number of queries is serviceable by one fewer processing units. The method further includes routing a query from a first processing unit to a second processing unit within the data warehouse, the query having a common session identifier with another query previously provided to the second processing unit, the second processing unit determined to be caching a data segment associated with a cloud storage resource, usable by the query, and removing the first processing unit from the data warehouse.
