THE LACTAM IS CONVERTED BY CONVENTIONAL METHODS INTO NYLON 12. NYLON 12 IS BECOMING AN INCREASINGLY IMPORTANT POLYMER COMPOSITION FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF MOLDED ARTICLES, FIBERS AND THE LIKE. THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO A NOVEL ESTER COMPOSITION OF MATTER WHICH MAY BE EMPLOYED IN THE SYNTHESIS OF LAURINLACTAM WHICH IN TURN IS USED IN THE MANFACTURE OF NYLON 12.
