    Abstract: A display mount apparatus has three panels hinged together with a single ductile hinge to form a calendar display with two covered display panels and an easel panel. A calendar is stapled to one of the display panels through the covering and through the ductile hinge to force the ductile hinge to bend along a predetermined hinge line. A method of making a display mount includes attaching a ductile hinge between first and second panels, then cutting an easel panel from a portion of the first panel and into the ductile hinge to form the easel panel already attached to the ductile hinge. The first panel may be a single panel or may be folded, in a face-to-face relationship so that the attached easel portion on one side can be rotated on the ductile hinge from one side of the folded first panel. The back of the first panel and one side of the easel panel may have printing thereon.

    Abstract: A locking easel stand display mount apparatus has a display panel and a backing panel having attached to the display panel. An easel stand is cut into the backing panel so that the easel stand can have angular movement away from the backing panel on a hinge. An easel locking tongue is formed in the easel stand for movement with respect thereto when the easel stand is moved away from the backing panel and engages the first panel to lock the easel stand in place. A hinge stiffening portion is formed in the easel stand hinge and includes a pair of parallel cuts in the backing panel at predetermined positions transverse to the easel stand hinge bending line in the panel. The hinge stiffening portion has a pair of bending lines between the two cuts and spaced from the hinge bending line so that an easel stand will bend on a plurality of interrupted hinge lines and produce a hinge stiffening portion. When the easel stand portion is rotated, the hinge stiffening portion pops up to form a bridge-like stiffening portion.

    Abstract: A display mount has four panels of lined paperboard with the first panel flexibly hinged to the second panel and the second panel flexibly hinged to the third panel and the third panel hinged to the fourth panel with a ductile hinge material. The first and second panels are substantially the same length and width with the third panel being of a shorter length than the first and second panels and the fourth panel being of a shorter length then the first, second and third panels. The fourth panel can be bent on its ductile hinge relative to the third panel which can be placed on a flat surface. The first and second panels can be folded to lay across the edge of the fourth panel as a slant type easel back desk calendar. The first panel can also be propped on the third panel to act as an upright type desk calendar and the first and second panels can be folded forward onto a flat surface for viewing referenced material or writing on the inside surface of one of the panels or on paper sheet supported thereto.

    Abstract: There are disclosed structures capable of being formed from hitherto non-useable thin materials for easel supports which are initially produced in flat shipping form, but which can be erected into slant surface display easels and mounts in which the structures are snap locked into an operative position with the parts thereof held under a selectable tension, with upper vertical face-to-face contacting display subpanels which are attached to each other at the top hinge bend line therebetween only, with the upper rear display subpanel having struck out tongue portions which are stapled to the lower slanting front display subpanel under selectable tension to produce a rigid snap-locked easel display and mount.     Abstract: A display mount and book support apparatus includes a base panel adapted to sit on a surface along with a pair of angled panels each attached to one edge of the base panel with a ductile hinge and extending at an angle over the base panel. A pair of generally upright panels are each attached to one edge of one angled panel and extend in a generally vertically direction. The upright panels are spaced from each other in a generally parallel spaced relationship whereby books or other materials can be wedged between the upright panels and rest on one side of the base panel. The ductile hinges are of an increased rigidity over those normally used in the industry and have been alloyed with magnesium, copper, iron and manganese to thereby increase the resistance to bending.

    Abstract: A method of making a reinforced book or binder cover of polymer or paper covered panels includes feeding a planar panel such as a paperboard panel into a plurality of cutters, then cutting parallel cuts through the panel with pairs of adjacent parallel cutters and stripping the panel portions between the parallel cuts with a stripping member to form a plurality of spaced panels.     Abstract: In a display apparatus a face panel has a front and rear side along with a plurality of edges and a heat sealable binding material attached over the front side and around at least two edges thereof. A support may be attached to the face panel to support the face panel on a desk, or the like. The improvement is a combination of a transparent or oqaque polymer film pocket overlaying the binding material on the front side of the face panel for inserting display material such as a calendar pad and around at least two edges and secured to the adjoining rear edges of said panel. The method of making a display mount includes the steps of feeding heat sealable paper or leatherette from a roll while applying glue to the opposite side and feeding one or more panels onto the glued surface of the paper. A heat sealable polymer film is fed from a wall adjacent to and parallel to the paper on the opposite side from the panels and is heat sealed to the paper at edges remote from each other. The web of the transparent or opaque polymer film is cut simultaneously with the web of the paper and the edges of the paper and polymer film rolled over opposite edges of the panel to casebind the panel simultaneously with the attachment of a polymer film pocket.A calendar pad or other display material may be inserted entirely under a transparent pocket or in the case of a memo calendar pad where it is desirable to write on the top page an opaque polymer film may be used to hold most of the pages inside the pocket with one or more top pages displayed outside for writing and viewing.
