A detector receives the K estimated user signals and produces a detected user signal for each of the mobile stations. An interference estimator then determines which detected user signal is the dominant interferer signal.

A mobile switching center is also within the CDMA2000-based network. An interface construct is communicatively coupled to the mobile switching center and to the wireless LAN, and is adapted to facilitate call traffic between the CDMA2000 network and the mobile station over the wireless LAN.
