Abstract: A magnetic doorstop and door holder provides an aesthetically pleasing, functionally simple, and effective solution to allow homeowners to closely control an amount of force needed to maintain a door in an open position. Abstract: A magnetic closure bumper assembly is used in conjunction with a movable structure that engages a stationary structure. The magnetic bumper assembly includes a first closure bumper and a second closure bumper. The first closure bumper includes a first bumper casing in which a first magnet is disposed. The first bumper casing has a mounting surface configured for attachment to the movable structure and an engagement surface opposing the mounting surface. The second closure bumper includes a second bumper casing in which a second magnet is disposed. The second bumper casing has a mounting surface configured for attachment to the stationary structure and an engagement surface opposing the mounting surface. Magnetic attraction between the first and second magnets causes the first closure bumper to be attracted to the second closure bumper, thereby urging the engagement surface of the first bumper casing to removably contact the engagement surface of the second bumper casing as the movable structure is moved toward the stationary structure.

Abstract: A magnetic window attachment assembly for attaching a muntin grid to a windowpane includes a first magnet or first ferromagnetic material attached to the windowpane at a first location and a second magnet or second ferromagnetic material attached to the muntin grid at a second location that aligns with the first location when the muntin grid is installed thereon. Magnetic attraction between the first magnet or the first ferromagnetic material and the second magnet or the second ferromagnetic material causes the muntin grid to be attracted to and removably engaged with the windowpane. The first magnet or first ferromagnetic material may have a convex surface, and the second magnet or second ferromagnetic material may have a concave surface that mates with the convex surface of the first magnet or first ferromagnetic material.

Abstract: A magnetic door closure apparatus includes a first magnet in a door frame and second and third magnets in a door. The second and third magnets align with the first magnet when the door is closed. The second magnet's polarity is the same as the first magnet, and the third magnet's polarity is opposite that of the first magnet. When the door is nearly closed, the distance between the first and second magnets is less than the distance between the first and third magnets. The magnetic attraction between the first and third magnets is large enough to overcome the magnetic repulsion between the first and second magnets so that the door can be closed and is large enough to hold the door closed, whereas the magnetic repulsion is large enough to prevent the door from slamming against the door frame as the door is closed.

Abstract: A magnetic door closure apparatus includes a first magnet, a second magnet and a third magnet. The first magnet is at a first location in a door frame and has a first magnetic polarity. The second magnet is at a second location in a door that corresponds to the first location in the door frame when the door is closed. The second magnet has a second magnetic polarity that is the same as the first magnetic polarity. The third magnet is at a third location in the door that corresponds to the first location in the door frame when the door is closed. The third magnet has a third magnetic polarity that is opposite the first magnetic polarity. When the door is nearly closed, the distance between the first location and the second location is less than the distance between the first location and the third location. A force of magnetic attraction exists between the first magnet and the third magnet, and a force of magnetic repulsion exists between the first magnet and the second magnet. The force of magnetic attraction is large enough to overcome the force of magnetic repulsion so that the door can be closed, and large enough to hold the door securely closed. The force of magnetic repulsion is large enough to prevent the door from slamming against the door frame as the door is closed.
