    Abstract: A hand held appliance comprising a fluid flow path extending from a fluid inlet into the appliance to a fluid outlet from the appliance, the fluid flow path being at least partially defined by a wall, a switch mechanism housed by the wall having a cooperating externally accessible actuating button and a switch cover extending within the wall and containing the switch mechanism. The switch cover may maintain a spatial location of the switch mechanism relative to the actuating button. The switch cover may encase the switch mechanism. The switch cover may isolate the switch mechanism from the fluid flow path. The switch cover may maintain a spatial location of the switch mechanism relative to the wall. The switch cover may be curved towards an upstream end to reduce disturbance to the flow of fluid within the fluid flow path.

    Abstract: A hand held appliance comprising an outer wall, a user operable button, a switch mechanism, and a switch assembly wherein the switch assembly is housed within the outer wall and comprises a frame, an actuator and a flexible membrane which connects the actuator to the frame and wherein the actuator cooperates with both the switch mechanism and the user operable button. The outer wall may comprise an aperture and the user operable button engages with the actuator through the aperture. The user operable button may be spaced from the flexible membrane by the actuator. The actuator may comprise a recess which engages with a corresponding protrusion that extends from the user operable button. The actuator may comprise a second recess which engages with an activation knob of the switch mechanism. The second recess may be spaced from the recess.     Abstract: An attachment is described for a haircare appliance. The attachment comprises an inlet for receiving an airflow, and a body comprising one or more pairs of outlets, each pair of outlets comprising a first outlet and a second outlet. The attachment further comprises a valve moveable relative to the body between a first position in which the valve occludes the first outlet and the airflow is discharged from the second outlet of each pair of outlets, and a second position in which the valve occludes the second outlet and the airflow is discharged from the first outlet of each pair of outlets. The valve comprises a sealing element that contacts the body at a position between the first and second outlets of each pair of outlets.
