Abstract: A system and method for an intelligent hair drying/styling apparatus with user information transmission and storage capabilities is herein provided. The hair drying/styling apparatus houses a control circuit board and an infrared or temperature sensor (or camera) in order detect an individual's hair condition moisture level to determine a user specific, customizable dryer setting. The information detected by the sensor is stored locally, on a proximal Internet-enabled device, or on a remote or cloud-based server and accessed by the hair drying/styling apparatus through a wireless local area network connectivity function. Accordingly, a user's hair temperature-drying profile may be stored and later recalled to provide optimal hair styling setting customized for that user. This innovation will enable any number of hair professionals and or end consumers to improve styling and dry time. Such a profile may contain a proprietary V-Factor calculation that will, among other applications, correspond to the use of a coordinated and optimized hair spray solution. According to the present invention, energy usage is reduced to enable a more efficient design.

Abstract: A hair styling device comprises a base having a rear handle portion and a forward styling portion, the forward styling portion comprising a plurality of projections, the plurality of projections comprising one or more of the following: bristles, comb teeth or spaced apart, plates. The device comprises a retainer arm opposed to the base, and pivotally connected to the base so that the retainer arm can pivot from an open position to receive hair and a closed position for retaining hair in the plurality of projections. The forward section of the retainer arm does not have projections and has sufficient open space that at least 50% of the hair being styled is visible to a user.

Abstract: An air-moving appliance includes a body extending about an axis. The body includes an inner wall and an outer wall spaced radially outward from the inner wall. The inner wall and the outer wall define a cavity therebetween. The inner wall defines a central passage. The air-moving appliance also includes an inlet and an outlet. The air-moving appliance further includes an attachment configured to selectively connect to the body in flow communication with the outlet. The attachment includes a connector configured to extend into the central passage defined by the inner wall of the body and an attachment inlet configured to receive the airflow that exits the cavity of the body through the outlet. The attachment inlet is circumferentially disposed about the axis and the central passage defined by the inner wall of the body when the attachment is connected to the body.

Abstract: An air heating device for a hairdryer comprises an inner tubular body (2) extending along a central axis (A) and provided with an outer surface (2b) from which a plurality of mutually angularly spaced, radial baffles (4) extend so as to define a plurality of angular sectors (S), a corrugated resistive coil (6) extending circumferentially around the inner tubular body (2), a safety device (9) placed in electrical connection with said corrugated resistive coil (6), a thermostat (10) placed in electrical connection with the corrugated resistive coil (6), and an outer tubular body (16) made of insulating material and arranged coaxially with the inner tubular body (2) around the corrugated resistive coil (6). The safety device (9) and the thermostat (10) are respectively housed in a first (S1) and a second angular sector (S2), which are adjacent to each other and separated by a shared radial baffle (11), and the corrugated resistive coil (6) comprises a plurality of first turns (7a) provided with two rectilinear portions (12) positioned at the first (S1) and the second angular sector (S2), respectively, and at least one anchoring wave (8) interposed between the rectilinear portions (12) and overlying said shared radial baffle (11).
