Abstract: A peer may receive a peer list from a hybrid overlay management server in response to an overlay network participation request of the peer, may select a first peer from the received peer list, may establish a connection with the selected first peer, and may establish a connection with at least one of second peers. Propagation of the overlay network participation request may be initiated by the selected first peer, and each of the second peers may correspond to a peer that receives the propagated overlay network participation request. One of the established connections may be determined as a primary path, and a communication may be performed through the primary path.

Abstract: A method of setting a path between peers included in a hybrid P2P network is disclosed. The method comprises transmitting, by a first peer, a primary path setting message for setting a primary path between the first peer and a second peer to the second peer; transmitting, by the second peer, a response message to the primary path setting message including information about a third peer, which is a parent peer of the second peer having a primary path relationship with the second peer, to the first peer; and transmitting one or more messages for setting a vertical candidate path with the third peer between the first peer and the third peer using the information about the third peer.

Abstract: Disclosed is a display device connection method for rapidly delivering data to a plurality of display devices. A peer-to-peer (P2P) overlay network including the plurality of display devices as member peers is configured to distribute content. In this case, an overlay management server (OMS) connects first member peers through a network as a tree topology using a source peer providing the content as a root node, and transmits fragments of the content to a child peer based on a number of peers to which each of the member peers is capable of transmitting the fragments of the content for a preset period of time, and the source peer directly transmits the fragments of the content to a second member peer that is not included in the tree topology among the member peers based on a predetermined limit on a hop count.
