摘要: A machine selects a candidate data service to be tested for service quality. The machine performs a first-phase test of the candidate data service by providing predetermined input data to the candidate data service and measuring a first quality metric that results. The machine may determine that the candidate data service is to undergo the second-phase test based on the first quality metric, and the machine may accordingly perform the second-phase test of the candidate data service. The second-phase test may include: adding the candidate data service to a pool of live data services processing undetermined input data; routing a portion of the undetermined input data to the candidate data service; and measuring a second quality metric resultant from the candidate data service processing the routed portion. Based on the second quality metric, the machine may record whether the candidate data service is to remain in the pool.

The device may define a verification start time, for the multiple simulations, based on the simulation start command, the status data, the time slot, and a system frame number being zero, and may define a network frame number that increments when the verification start time changes from zero to one. The device may cause the multiple simulations to be executed by the network elements, based on the time slot, the system frame number, and the network frame number, and may receive synchronized simulation results based on causing the multiple simulations to be executed by the network elements.

摘要: Methods and systems for uneven segmentation of data packets to reduce retransmission penalty accumulated as a result of having to retransmit one or more of the last segments. The method includes segmenting a data packet into segments of different sizes, with generally larger segments in the first half and smaller segments in the second half, and transmitting the segments over an intermediate communication link to another node. The transmission of the segments begins before receiving the entire data packet, and retransmission of a corrupted segment takes place as soon as an indication indicative of the corrupted segment is detected.

摘要: A network device determines whether a one-step timestamping method or a two-step timestamping method is to be used for transmission of a first packet. A first processor of the network device transfers to a second processor of the network device, i) a timing message to be included in the first packet, and ii) information that indicates the determined timestamping method. In response to the information from the first processor indicating that the one-step timestamping method is to be used, the second processor transmits the first packet with timing information embedded in the first packet. In response to the information from the first processor indicating that the two-step timestamping method is to be used, the second processor stores the timing information in a memory of the network device for subsequent inclusion in a second packet that is to be transmitted after transmitting the first packet, and transmits the first packet.

摘要: Techniques for optimizing technologies related to network path tracing and network delay measurements are described herein. Some of the techniques may include using an IPv6 header option and/or segment identifier field of a segment list or a TLV of a segment routing header as a telemetry data carrier. The techniques may also include using an SRv6 micro-segment (uSID) instruction to indicate to a node of a network that the node is to perform one or more path tracing actions and encapsulating the packet and forward. Additionally, the techniques may include using short interface identifiers corresponding to node interfaces to trace a packet path through a network. Further, the techniques may include using short timestamps to determine delay measurements associated with sending a packet through a network. In various examples, the techniques described above and herein may be used with each other to optimize network path tracing and delay measurement techniques.

摘要: A method includes analyzing, via a first capturing agent, packets processed in a first environment associated with a first host to yield first data. The method includes analyzing, via a second capturing agent, packets processed by a second environment associated with a second host to yield second data, collecting the first data and the second data at a collector to yield aggregated data, transmitting the aggregated data to an analysis engine which analyzes the aggregated data to yield an analysis. Based on the analysis, the method includes identifying first packet loss at the first environment and second packet loss at the second environment.
