A video encoding/decoding method and apparatus is provided. The image decoding method includes acquiring image data of images of a plurality of views, determining a basic view and a plurality of reference views among the plurality of views, determining a pruning order of the plurality of reference views, and parsing the image data based on the pruning order and decoding an image of the basic view and images of the plurality of reference views.

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for providing an omni-directional stereoscopic image based on layer projection. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, there is provided a method of providing an omni-directional stereoscopic image based on layer projection, the method including: obtaining a spatial-information-point set; and generating a layer image based on a spatial-information-point subset constructed for each of multiple layers, the layer image corresponding to each of the multiple layers, wherein the spatial-information-point subset constructed for each of two consecutive layers includes one or more duplicate spatial information points.

Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method for obtaining spatial information using an active array lens. In order to obtain spatial information in the apparatus for obtaining spatial information including the active microlens, at least one active pattern for varying a microlens' focus is determined by controlling voltage applied to a pattern of the active microlens, and at least one projection image captured by the at least one active pattern is obtained in a time-division unit.
