With this, the speed negotiation is executed with the facing node for each transceiver before data transfer, and the transfer speed of the node is determined by the result of the speed negotiation, so that it is possible to provide a transmitting and receiving circuit and a transmitting and receiving method such that data transfer becomes possible even in a channel of poor quality.

    摘要: In optical two-way communication using a single optical fiber, part of the light transmitted from an apparatus is received as stray light by the apparatus itself. This occasionally hampers accurate detection of disconnection from the partner apparatus and of the start of data communication by the partner apparatus after the establishment of connection. To overcome this, the timing with which an apparatus transmits a tone signal after the establishment of connection is compared with the timing with which the apparatus receives a tone signal from the partner apparatus, and the two apparatuses use different sets of data transmission properties (for example, different wavelengths) to accurately detect disconnection. Moreover, based on the properties of the received light and the characteristics of the receiving amplifier, repetition of the same code for longer than a predetermined period is detected to accurately detect disconnection. Furthermore, in response to a request for data communication after the establishment of connection, a tone signal having a different pattern from that used to establish connection is used to accurately detect the start of data communication.

The transmitter has a request generating part for generating a connection request including data and commands required to connect the plurality of adjacent communication layers, and a request transmitting part for transmitting the connection request to the receiver. The receiver has a request receiving part for receiving the connection request from the transmitter, and a connection establishing pant for extracting the data and commands from the connection request and establishing, based on the extracted data and commands, the connections of the communication layers. In this way, the time required for establishing the connections can be shortened. Thus, even if a data exchange is interrupted, a reconnection can be made in a short time to resume the data exchange.

In a receiver, if an omission of a sequence number is detected as a result of analyzing sequence numbers of frames having received from the transmitter (2001), retransmission request is made when receiving a frame whose batch-transmission-end flag indicates the end. In this way, retransmission is possible in data transmission using UI frames, and the communication efficiency can be improved.

    摘要: Provided is a communication system including a transmitter and a receiver which carry out communication by establishing connection of their plurality of communication layers. The transmitter generates a connection request containing a command and data required for connecting a number of contiguously adjacent layers among the plurality of communication layers and transmits the connection request to the receiver. The receiver receives a connection request containing a command and data required for connecting a number of contiguously adjacent layers among the plurality of communication layers, extracts the command and data from the connection request, and establishes connection for the plurality of communication layers based on the command and data. In this way, the time taken to establish connection is reduced. Therefore, even when the connection is cut off during the data exchange, the connection can be established again without taking much time, allowing quick recovery of data exchange.
