Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining a scheduled maintenance session for a proportional actuator includes transmitting a command signal to a controller of the proportional actuator and generating, using the controller, a drive signal for controlling the proportional actuator using the command signal. The position of a component actuator of the proportional actuator is changed, on the basis of the drive signal, and the position of the component actuator is measured, using a sensor, and a position feedback signal is generated on the basis of the measurement. A condition indicator is estimated, with a processor, using only one of the command signal, the drive signal, or the position feedback signal. A health indicator is estimated, with the processor, using the condition indicator, and a scheduled maintenance session of the proportional actuator is determined, with the processor, using the health indicator.

The system may receive at least one field data of an auxiliary power unit, transforming the field data into at least one corrected field data, filtering the at least one corrected field data into at least one filtered field data, calculating at least one offset field data from the at least one filtered field data, determining a health indicator of the auxiliary power unit based on the at least one offset field data, and determining a maintenance procedure for the auxiliary unit based on the health indicator.

Abstract: A system and method for diagnosing load compressor health state for an auxiliary power unit that includes a power compressor, a combustor, a power turbine, and a load compressor is provided. The auxiliary power unit is operated and bleed air is discharged from the load compressor at a bleed air pressure. Using a pressure sensor, the bleed air pressure discharged from the load compressor is sensed and supplied to a processor. In the processor, power compressor health state is diagnosed based solely on the sensed bleed air pressure.
