Abstract: A network device checks forwarding tables of routers in a network by sending check packets designed to reach a target router via label-forwarding. The network device determines a forwarding path from itself to a destination IP address, with the target router on the forwarding path and at N hops from itself. The network device then generates and sends a check packet having a label stack with N link labels correspond to the hops and a TTL value set to N+1. When the check packet is routed by the target router to a next-hop node of the target router, the TTL value is deducted to 0, causing the next-hop node to send a notification message to the network device. Based on the identity of the next hop node, the network device determines whether the forwarding table of the target router is correct.

Abstract: This application discloses a method for controlling traffic in a packet-based network. In the method, after receiving a control packet from a transmit end, an intermediate node between the transmit end and the receive end sends a control packet at the head of a first control queue based on first duration, wherein the first duration is obtained based on a committed burst size (CBS) and a first committed information rate (CIR), and the intermediate node is configured to send a packet of a first transmit end to a first receive end in the packet-based network. After sending the control packet in the control queue, the intermediate node sends a first data packet set at the head of a data queue based on the sent control packet, wherein the first data packet set comprises C data packets, and C is an integer greater than or equal to 1.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for implementing delay measurement. The method includes: determining, by a measurement apparatus, a delay T0 generated when a first packet is transmitted at a first priority over a first loopback path that includes a first sub-path and a second sub-path; determining a delay T1 generated when a second packet is transmitted over a second loopback path that includes the first sub-path, the second sub-path, a third sub-path, and a fourth sub-path, where the second packet is transmitted at the first priority over the first sub-path and the second sub-path and is transmitted at a second priority over the third sub-path and the fourth sub-path; and determining a delay according to T0 and T1. Therefore a delay can be measured only by implementing a measurement function in the measurement apparatus, thereby resolving a problem of complex implementation.

Abstract: A load balancing method, device and system, where the method includes: determining, based on load statuses of respective probe channels on n paths between a source end and a destination end, a target path with a lightest load in the n paths, where a probe channel is used to transmit a probe packet that includes a bandwidth probe packet; sending a bandwidth probe packet to the destination end through a probe channel on the target path; receiving the bandwidth probe packet returned by the destination end; and sending, based on the bandwidth probe packet returned by the destination end, a to-be-transmitted data packet to the destination end through a data channel on the target path. Therefore, load balancing among a plurality of paths is implemented.
