Abstract: Methods and devices for propagating transactions in a network of nodes, each node having one or more connections to other nodes. The method includes receiving a plurality of incoming transactions over a time period; combining the plurality of incoming transactions using network coding to generate a composite message; sending the composite message to one or more nodes in the network; and determining an adjusted time period based on an equilibrium constant parameter and a count of transactions in the plurality of incoming transactions received over the time period.

Abstract: A network device includes ingress queues for storing data units while the data units are being processed by ingress packet processors, and a plurality of egress buffer memories for storing data units received from the ingress queues while the data units are being processed by the egress packet processors. First circuitry controls respective rates at which data units are transferred from ingress queues to egress buffer memories. Second circuitry monitors the egress buffer memories for congestion and sends, to the first circuitry, flow control messages related to congestion resulting of egress buffer memories. The first circuitry progressively increases over time a rate at which data from each ingress queue are transferred to an egress buffer memory in response to receiving a flow control message that indicates that congestion corresponding to the egress buffer memory has ended.

DU computes DDR for a DRB as follows: DDR=TBS(MCS″, prb″, rank)*(number of slots/subframe in 1 sec)*(beta)*(beta_drb), with TBS being the Transport block size computation, and MCS″=min {(current MCS+MCS_step), MCSmax}.

Abstract: A network interface controller (NIC) capable of efficient load balancing among the hardware engines is provided. The NIC can be equipped with a plurality of ordering control units (OCUs), a queue, a selection logic block, and an allocation logic block. The selection logic block can determine, from the plurality of OCUs, an OCU for a command from the queue, which can store one or more commands. The allocation logic block can then determine a selection setting for the OCU, select an egress queue for the command based on the selection setting, and send the command to the egress queue.

Abstract: Embodiments of a secure communication network are disclosed. To implement the embodiments, an ingress core node that includes a processor and a memory storing computer-executable instructions, is presented. The instructions, when executed, cause the processor to receive a data packet. The instructions further cause the processor to compare a slice identifier (ID) associated with the received data packet with one or more slice IDs in an access control list (ACL). The instructions further cause the processor to filter the received data packet based on the comparison indicating an occurrence of a match between the slice ID associated with the data packet and one of the one or more slice IDs in the ACL. The instructions further cause the processor to transmit the filtered data packet to an egress core node of the core network via one or more intermediate core nodes of the core network.

The method includes determining that one of the nodes is a bottleneck for propagation of transactions; receiving, over a first time period, a plurality of new transactions from one or more first nodes in the network of nodes; combining the plurality of new transactions using network coding and a local encoding vector to generate a message; and sending the message and a global encoding vector to one or more second nodes in the network of nodes instead of sending the plurality of new transactions to the one or more second nodes. The network may be a blockchain network.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method of reducing network congestion in a virtual network. The method, at a first CFE of the virtual network, receives multiple encapsulated data packets of a data stream. The encapsulated data packets having been encapsulated by a second CFE, operating on a server of the virtual network. The second CFE identifies a load percentage of the server, sets explicit congestion notification (ECN) bits on a percentage of the data packets based on the load percentage of the server, and encapsulates each data packet. The first CFE determines whether to forward a new connection to the second CFE based at least on the percentage of data packets from the first CFE with the ECN bits set.

Abstract: A network congestion control method includes, during transmission of a first service flow, a first network device that obtains a measurement packet including groups of measurement results corresponding to the first service flow, and each group includes an identifier of a forwarding device on a forwarding path of the first service flow and a measurement value corresponding to the forwarding device. The first network device determines, based on the groups, a congested second network device on the forwarding path. The first network device determines a control policy based on location information of the second network device, where the control policy resolves congestion of the first service flow.
