The communication method further includes updating, by the first device, the current protocol version of the first device based on the protocol information.

Abstract: A method for processing a time synchronization packet is provided. In an embodiment a terminal device receives a time synchronization packet of a first clock source from an external device; receives first indication information from a network device, where the first indication information instructs the terminal device to enter a time synchronization activated state of the first clock source, or the first indication information instructs the terminal device to enter a time synchronization deactivated state of the first clock source; and processes the time synchronization packet of the first clock source based on the first indication information. When a clock source is activated and deactivated, the terminal device processes a time synchronization packet of the clock source in different manners, and signaling indicates whether the clock source is activated or deactivated.

The method includes: receiving, by a node, a first message, where the first message carries a bandwidth value r1 of a resource requested to be reserved and a quantity Q1 of cycles occupied by the resource, the node maintains resource reservation states in K cycles, K is a positive integer, and Q1 is less than or equal to K; and updating, by the node, resource reservation states in Q1 of the K cycles based on the bandwidth value r1 and the quantity Q1. The node maintains the resource reservation states at a granularity of cycles. Therefore, the resource reservation states that need to be maintained by the node do not depend on a quantity of data flows processed by the node, and a performance requirement of a resource reservation for the node can be lowered.

The first candidate cell satisfies a first camping condition. The first camping condition comprises a cell selection criterion and a service requirement. The service requirement is a preset threshold of a parameter reflecting signal quality of a cell.
