Abstract: A process for the impregnation of workpieces of porous material and an apparatus to carry out the process are disclosed. The impregnation of workpieces is carried out in that, initially, all gas is withdrawn from the workpiece by evacuation, whereupon the workpiece is saturated with impregnating agent. Impregnation can be carried out in a very short period of time, if the workpieces are subjected to vibration during impregnation.
