Abstract: According to one embodiment, the illumination device includes a first area, a second area, a first light guide, a plurality of first light sources, a second light guide, a plurality of second light sources, a first layer and a second layer. The first layer extends from the first area over a boundary between the first area and the second area, to between a second side surface of the first light guide and the boundary. The second layer extends from the second area over the boundary to between a third side surface of the second light guide and the boundary.
