Abstract:
Provided is an image forming apparatus that cools a cooled unit with high cooling efficiency in the longitudinal direction with a simple structure. A connecting opening portion is provided in a boundary surface that partitions between a cooling duct and a parallel duct. A rectifying plate is shaped so as to deflect a flow of air from the right side to the left side in the vicinity of the connecting opening portion toward the lower side or toward the upper side. Low-temperature cooling air flow from the parallel duct into the cooling duct via the connecting opening portion. Alternatively, inside the cooling duct, high-temperature cooling air is removed through the connecting opening portion.
Abstract:
A fixing device includes a heating member, a pressing member, and an induction heating unit. In this fixing device, (i) a wound width Wc of a center portion of an induction heating coil in a longitudinal direction seen from an axial direction of the heating member, (ii) a wound width Wp in the vicinity of and inside edges of a maximum recording medium passing region of a recoding medium, and (iii) a wound width We of at least one of both edges of the induction heating coil in the longitudinal direction satisfy parameters that the wound width Wc is smaller than the wound width Wp and is larger than or equal to the wound width We.
Abstract:
A magnetic core surrounds a coil and has a plurality of first core sections arrayed along the widthwise direction of a recording medium orthogonally to the conveyance direction of the recording medium, and a second core section disposed at both ends in the widthwise direction within a hollow section of the coil. The second core section is formed so that the cross-sectional area thereof in the conveyance direction of the recording medium grows progressively larger from the center of the widthwise direction towards the end thereof.
