    Abstract: An optical scanner includes a scanning optical system, a housing, and a pressing and retaining member. The housing includes a retaining portion, a support portion that is formed to be opposed to the retaining portion, and an engaged portion to be engaged with an engaging portion. The pressing and retaining member includes a main body including the engaging portion and at least one pressing portion. In a first state where the engaging portion is engaged with the engaged portion, the at least one pressing portion presses the optical element toward the retaining portion. While the pressing and retaining member shifts from a second state where the engaging portion is not engaged with the engaged portion to the first state, a distal end of the at least one pressing portion passes beyond a boundary between the retaining portion and the optical element and abuts on a part of the housing.

    Abstract: An optical scanning device includes a housing, a transmissive member, a wire-shaped member, a driving portion, a cleaning holder, a cleaning member, a stopper, and a control portion. The control portion is capable of executing a cleaning mode including at least one of a forward travel operation of controlling the wire-shaped member to travel in a first direction so that the cleaning holder moves along the transmissive member and a backward travel operation of, after executing the forward travel operation, controlling the wire-shaped member to travel in a second direction so that the cleaning holder moves in an opposite direction to a direction of the forward travel operation. The control portion executes a load releasing operation of controlling the cleaning holder to move by a prescribed amount in an opposite direction to the direction of the forward travel operation or the direction of the backward travel operation.

    Abstract: An optical scanning device includes a housing that houses an optical system for generating a light ray for optical scanning, and has a dustproof glass for emitting the light ray to an outside, and a cleaning system that is assembled to the housing and cleans the dustproof glass. The cleaning system includes a cleaning member, and a holder that holds the cleaning member, and with the holder moved in a specified movement direction relative to the dustproof glass, the cleaning member cleans the dustproof glass. The cleaning member includes a cleaner member that is adapted to contact a surface of the dustproof glass, and a pressing member that has a pressing surface for pressing the cleaner member toward the dustproof glass and is formed of an elastic body. In the movement direction, a width of the cleaner member is wider than a width of the pressing surface.

    Abstract: An optical scanning device irradiates an image carrier with laser light to form an electrostatic latent image. The optical scanning device includes a casing, a transmissive member, a wire-shaped member, a driving portion, a guide rail, a cleaning holder, a cleaning member, and a stopper.
