    摘要: Derotation instrument assemblies and systems are provided to facilitate positioning one or more vertebrae of a spinal column into a desired alignment. The instrument assemblies and systems include implant holders engageable to respective implants engaged to vertebrae of the spinal column, transverse bridges to connect implant holders associated with a particular vertebra, and inter-level linking assemblies to connect instrument assemblies associated with different vertebrae. Derotation handles can be provided to facilitate application of the alignment forces, while the assemblies distribute the corrective forces to the connected implants and vertebrae.

    摘要: An implant system comprises a fastener including a proximal portion and a distal portion configured for penetrating tissue. The proximal portion defines a first cavity that defines a first longitudinal axis. A connector extends between a first end and a second end configured for disposal in the first cavity and movement within a first plane. The connector is moveable along the first longitudinal axis relative to the distal portion. A receiver is attached to the connector and includes an implant cavity defining a second longitudinal axis and configured for disposal of an implant. The implant cavity is rotatable about the first longitudinal axis such that the implant is rotatable in a second plane relative to the distal portion of the fastener. Methods of use are disclosed.

    摘要: A method for assembling a system for correcting alignment of a spinal column of a patient is provided. The method includes the steps of engaging first and second implants to a first vertebra; engaging a distal portion of respective first and second implant holders to respective ones of the first and second implants, the first and second implant holders each extending from said distal portion along a longitudinal axis to a proximal end outside the patient; engaging a transverse bridge between and to proximal ends of each of the first and second implant holders; and engaging a derotation handle to the transverse bridge at a location between the first and second implant holders and in a generally parallel orientation to a sagittal plane of the spinal column so that the transverse derotation handle extends transversely to the sagital plane.

    摘要: A side-loading bone anchor is provided, which may be used in cervical, thoracic, lumbar or sacral areas of the spine or other orthopedic locations. In one embodiment, the anchor includes an anchoring portion and a receiving portion. The anchoring portion is attached to a bone, and is connected to the receiving portion. A rod or other elongated support member is received in the receiving portion in contact with a crown member in the receiving portion and above the anchoring portion. The receiving portion, with or without the rod, may be rotated or pivoted with respect to the anchoring portion, and a set screw is threaded into the receiving portion to lock the rod within the receiving portion.
